AH MY EYES!!!

11/02/2022

Ideas are starting to dry up now, anyone with lyrics, look out I will be on the prowl.

10/02/2022

All plans have gone down the toilet, I'm just doing whatever I damn well please.

01/02/2022

And I'm off, think I have decided this year that all of my songs must have a challenge tag.

26/01/2022

Starting to get the fear. Good old terror has kicked in and I'm started to worry am I good enough? Will I have the lyrics in me that are interesting and not clichéd? Have I burnt out before I've began?

Will this stop me? Hell no, I'll just have to accept that it might not be as good as I want it to be and just put it out anyway.

23/01/2022

Ok, so I probably put some kind of thing selling myself, maybe, so here it is, a song about orange juice ... with pulp because it's just plain wrong without.

    Thanks dude.
Thats a first time i didn't adjust guitar sounds at all, just first vox-type modelling and played one guitar left in neck pickup and another in right with bridge.
    Nothing extra in signal path.
Little bit different telecaster was guitar, no pick, still don't own any so must play with fingers.
    I'm not a guitarist, just bassist :)

  • @onceandfuturegabi  Feb 2022

Howdy! I posted an audio version of our collab here: https://fawm.org/songs/137976/.

I don't know if I can list multiple collaborators. I'll try to figure it out, but you might want to post a second version for it to appear on your song list as well. Thanks for working on this together, it was a lot of fun!

  • @actualjulian  Feb 2022

Thank you for the love this year. May the FAWM be with you ALWAYS

  • @nadine Feb 2022

Your comment on "Fit right in" means a lot to me. I loved the lyrics but it's the first time I stuck on arrangement. I'm happy that @davidtaro helped me to rock a sparse arrangement cause this is just the opposite of my usual prompt (I'm very deep into epic full band stuff). I'm looking forward to finish this song after FAWM. With better vocals and mixing.

  • @bjunker  Feb 2022

Thanks for the very kind thoughts on Weather Report and Lazy Morning. Both were very fun to put together -- though very different! -- and it's great to hear you liked them.

Looking forward to catching up on everybody's music once I'm back in town.

    cheers,

    - BJ

  • @gilhari  Feb 2022

Thanks for the comment on winter! It will be a pleasure to work in this one a little more with some added music during the year. The lyric and the chorus need a little work, but for the most part it seems like people are hearing/reading the intent well.

  • @slusk Feb 2022

Glad you liked it. Look like you're not *that* much of a procrastinator when it comes to creating great music, though. ;)

  • @ajna1960  Feb 2022

Thank you for musicating 'You Suck Me In' love it :) !!!

  • @ajna1960  Feb 2022

The Sucky Song is all yours Sir !!

  • @billwhite51 Feb 2022

im going to play this for my baby romorrow night and sing some sandman sleepytime lyrics over it, i bet she goes right to sleep

  • @artie  Feb 2022

Thanks so much for your comment on "Bubbles." I'm glad it lived up to its tag of "weird" lol. We had a lot of fun making it. :)

  • @metalfoot  Feb 2022

So totally not my usual style of vocals!!!

  • @shallowcarrot Feb 2022

Thanks for your kind comments on The Ribbon Song. Really appreciate it :)

  • @jayjay  Feb 2022

Thank you for the lovely comments on the Ribbon Song.

Awhh..what a sweet guy. :0) Thank you so much for listening to Love thru a broken Heart. If it touched you deeply, that warms my heart. Thank you for your kind comments.

  • @mandolinda  Feb 2022

Hi , yes the honking is part of the recording. I walked along the road and waited for the route bus driver to honk at me. People calling out the open windows, and people whining about hot, dusty, windy, too noisy. I had a great time putting this together. Thanks for listening.

  • @daveyboy103  Feb 2022

Thanks for the feedback on Follow the Money, Bill's voice really suits this song very well. Real emotion.

  • @karlsburg25  Feb 2022

Dude how did i not notice you are another sheffielder. I am over the hill in the peaks .Can't wait to hear what other magic comes from your Yorkshire bones this month. Bring it on

  • @jessicamoon  Feb 2022

Thank you I loved your comment :). The instrument is called a space mandolin in logic. I was looking for a mandolin since that is the picture fawm assigned, and I found this.

  • @berni1954  Feb 2022

Glad you like my collab with Bill White (The Judge will....). Like you I often get a cinematic vision in my head when I follow songs. I appreciate yours.

  • @srcoops  Feb 2022

You are right about growing old. Things don't work. I am stuck with a rollator (a form of walker) all the time. I fall a lot. It's a pain in the rear.

Oh my dude, you're in for a treat

  • @davidtaro  Feb 2022

Oh god, I knew ‘game over man’ felt familiar!!! Haha, sorry dude. Went totally over my head, even though I read the liner notes.

  • @davidtaro  Feb 2022

Thanks for those nice comments earlier! Really digging your stuff, glad I came, will visit again. (5 stars).

  • @slawbleu  Feb 2022

Hey there! I'm actually Chris (Stacy is kovbleu), but I still appreciate the kind comments on "Monica Vitti in Heaven"! :)

  • @emkaydeebee  Feb 2022

Hey! Thanks for your comment on Ray’s song - I basically sang each line to him and he sang it back to me into the mic… I just accepted each return from him without any correction, just to rattle through it (and give him a positive experience too of course), then recorded the piano (that I’d sort of got planned) and then chopped Ray’s vocals up to land right over a piano. So very little effort on his part ha ha!

  • @hornesgiftshop  Feb 2022

Thanks for listening to my song Careless Talk, and the compliments therein. Liking your stuff a lot, too. I tried the Bandcamp link and it doesn't work - you might want to fix it. Found you anyway and will be downloading the ball-of-string album as soon as I'm at my laptop.

  • @sunnymae  Feb 2022

Thanks so much for taking a listen to Are You Listening, my invocation song. I walk in with the same dread of drawing a blank each year and always so relieved when the first one pops out!
I'm so glad you enjoyed it!

  • @coolparadiso  Feb 2022

There is a challenge where you have use a band from the Abba fake band challenge and write a song as them. Is it OK if I use one you created called "the jumping junipers".

  • @tuesdaygray Feb 2022

Thanks so much for your kind comment!

  • @guatecoop  Feb 2022

Hey there, I completely forgot to send you the WAV! I will do that when I get home.

  • @sorby69  Feb 2022

Thanks very much for your kind feedback on my first FAWM offering! I spent waay too long on it. Bit of an oddity - but I'm happy with it - and yeah, working with Zecoop's drums was a real treat.

  • @jorh  Feb 2022

The sheffield reference wasn't on purpose, but i'll claim it ;) Yeah I think it was probably already too late to censor it on reflection haha

  • @thedutchwidows  Feb 2022

Thanks for the acoustic guitar info - so was that three inputs? At the risk of getting super-nerdy, where do you point the mics? I've tried several techniques and combinations of mics and DI-ing, and it always just sounds murky and dull. Suspect my mics are not very good (what do they say about bad workmen..?).

  • @robynmackenzie  Feb 2022

The first time I did the challenge I actually did second fruits, lol. So it’s definitely not too late! https://fawm.org/forums/topic/12391/

  • @guatecoop  Feb 2022

Oh yeah man, it’s all you!! I look forward to hearing what you do! Thanks!

  • @cblack Feb 2022

Ha! Not smoking anything, but I definitely get the munchies sometimes. Glad you enjoyed. :)

  • @slusk Feb 2022

Yes, I'm hoping for a future sale of their acoustic bass which sound really nice.

  • @karlsburg25  Feb 2022

Ha ha cheers matey. I gonna find my inner heavy with some hardcore thrashing to some of zecoops drum samples ;-)

  • @audrey  Jan 2022

You're welcome. Glad to help. Have a great FAWM!

  • @nadine Jan 2022

Thanks for listening and also for your kind words on the "This is me" thread. Sometimes magic happens and bring the right people together. I don't know if I ever will write something like this again, but I don't worry too much.
    You are worthy!!!

  • @thelowestbitter Jan 2022

Seemanski! Enjoyed your Bjork cover, looking forward to hearing your stuff this year

Re: The It's Kind of a Funny Story movie - Avoid! They butchered it completely!

  • @andygetch  Jan 2022

Hey Mike, glad that you are here and have a great FAWM!

  • @sorby69  Jan 2022

Thanks for the feedback Seemanski! You asked about the lyrics - they can be found here (scroll down a bit) ... http://www.latenightflying.com/artist/rob-dunsford

It's actually a song about a relationship that never even got started! The briefest of encounters (it was over in 3 blinks) but I wrote about how our lives might have unfolded had we acted on our latent impulses. :)

The songwriting comp is/was Talent is Timeless. https://www.talentistimeless.com/
It's aimed at folks 50 years old and upwards. 2021 was the first year (UK only) and this year they've opened it up to some other countries. It was a lot of fun but I don't think I need to do it again - and this FAWM community and the fact it's been running (well) for so long gives me confidence I'm in the right place to learn, improve and, crucially, create!

Thanks again & have a great FAWM.

  • @terroratspacecamp  Jan 2022

    Happy FAWM!

  • @petemurphy  Jan 2022

Hey seemanski, thanks. Yes, it would be great to work on some of your vocals. Let's do the fun!
