Artist Bio

Influences:   Influences..or ambitions? I’m always behind on what the cool kids are listening to. When I look at my Amazon music and Spotify searches, I remember that I searched a lot based on stuff I heard on Rick Beato’s What Makes This Song Great? YouTube series, and music recommended to me by being part of the Sound Opinions discussion group on Facebook. So I see lots of stuff where those were influences on what I listened to.

2022 is my 16th FAWM. It was in my 1st or 2nd FAWM that I started the idea of FAWMku in January, to get the creative juices flowing. It has taken on a life of it's own and that makes me happy as a very small way to give back to this great community.

Thinking of posting as different band names this year from my list of potential band names list I keep in my phone.

Happy to collaborate if time allows.

I have a music nerd t shirt for sale that is two classic microphones under scripted with “choices”.

First time I have ever sold anything artsy. https://my-store-c73006.creator-spring.com/listing/choices-february-2022

Thanks, I really appreciate the offer. I'm 99% sure I'll be buying the one off my cousin, but if that falls through for whatever reason, I will definitely be hitting you up! Thanks again!

  • @guatecoop  Mar 2022

Oh goodness....Old is a state of mind!! --or at least that's what I'm sticking with....

  • @fearlessflight2014  Mar 2022

I’m sad you won’t be FAWMing again. I hope I never get tired of it. It’s been super important for me to get me writing again. I don’t collab outside of FAWM because I find it difficult to make time for my own music as it is. Collabs are just part of the fun of the FAWM community.

  • @fearlessflight2014  Mar 2022

I’m so sorry Scott. I tried to get something I was happy with but the main hook/message sounded too earnest or preachy when I sang it and not authentic. I have never managed to succeed in a collab where somebody gives me lyrics to work to despite how much I love what they’ve sent. I have such a specific idea of my own lyric voice, yet feel dreadful taking the knife to someone else’s words. It’s different if I stumble on a lyric that just starts to sing to me but that is rare. Next year send me some music and we’ll try again. I have a big music festival to prepare for next week, my first since covid so I may be deleting the placeholders I still have even though the songs are finished I may not have time to record the demos.

  • @fearlessflight2014  Mar 2022

Yes! I have an idea of a song inspired by your lyric, but I just need time!

  • @actualjulian  Feb 2022

Hey Scott! Thanks for the love this year and may the FAWM be with you.

  • @oldlostjohn Feb 2022

Thanks, I'm so happy that you're satisfied with the result!

  • @stevenwesleyguiles  Feb 2022

That t-shirt is AWESOME!! Inktober is why I made my own design to put on a shirt too! (and it was tied in with FAWM).

  • @oldlostjohn Feb 2022

But are you sure you only want the pre chorus before the first chorus and not before the second as well?

  • @stevenwesleyguiles  Feb 2022

BRO! I'm so sorry. I'm knee deep in finishing my Kickstarter album and can't take on anything else.

I HATE saying no to collabs.
But I don't want you sitting on those cool lyrics waiting for me.

  • @oldlostjohn Feb 2022

Well, the words "pre chorus" were in the lyrics, that's why I wondered. Also, one three-line stanza once among all the four-line stanzas, is that correct?

  • @oldlostjohn Feb 2022

Sure, if I can find time to work somrthing out that I'm happy with! A bit busy, working this weekend (only four nights in total off from work this month) and will help a friend moving, but I'll see what I can do! But how do you think around this with pre- and post-chorus? Is it meant to be like chorus with different words or more like a bridge?

  • @sadloaf Feb 2022

Thanks for the comment on "When It Comes." I counted in in 7/8, but the vocals are basically truncated 4/4 melodies which means they go over the bar lines a lot.

  • @jacobeverettwallace  Feb 2022

Hey Scott, whaddya need from me to record a bass track for Aurora? I'd be down! Song is in E and 4/4 at 148bpm. Let me know.

  • @erucaesounds  Feb 2022

Thanks for the comments on Mr Spaceman!!!

  • @jacobeverettwallace  Feb 2022

Man, it's been tough to get any recording time. I spent a couple hours today but I didn't get anything particularly good. I may have another go at it tomorrow but it might be best if I gave it back over to you.

  • @zecoop  Feb 2022

    Have a go… let’s hear it!

  • @guatecoop  Feb 2022

Oh absolutely! We are completely into letting anyone do their thing. No limitations on the!

  • @elainedimasi  Feb 2022

Hey, I appreciated seeing your note. Well, this is my 14th (I skipped 2018) and it never gets any easier. It's always hard and I, too, am starting to head into most years wondering if I'm really doing it or am pulling the sunset switch myself. We'll see! This year what I'm really noticing is how awful it is to be in a chair at a computer after a workday of nothing but. And I don't really write and record music any other way. I have a tiny thought to maybe use this year's 50/90 as an accountability page to practice these guitars - away from computers!

  • @jacobeverettwallace  Feb 2022

Hey Scott it's been a little crazy in my neck of the woods but I did do a little work on the song. If I can't get something substantial done I'll pass it back to you this weekend. Hoping I can finish up some songs this weekend.

  • @mikedebenham  Feb 2022

Hi Scott. If you sent over those lyrics you mentioned, I never received them. If you didn't, no worries!

  • @fearlessflight2014  Feb 2022

I'm really struggling to find time for FAWM this year - a lot of unexpected pressures. But I would still like to try!!

  • @ndavies  Feb 2022

Let's give this one more go. Hoping this will be a better blank slate to work with. Fingers crossed!

  • @davidsnyder Feb 2022

Hey Scott, I saw your post on my soundboard about the "other place." I am afraid I do not follow. Feel free to email me to explain man. Sorry! :)

  • @sorby69  Feb 2022

Hi Scott! Thanks for give my "Who's shaking the jar?" song a listen :)

  • @ndavies  Feb 2022

Hey Scott, thanks for taking on vocals! Here's a mix with that element more backgrounded:
    https://files.fawmers.org/FAWM_2022/ndavies/Vroom%20(more%20mixed).mp3

That's a good call too. I kinda hit Save on that track Friday when I felt done with it. A little more mixing goes a long way :-)

  • @jdschramm Feb 2022

Thanks for your kind words on "My Real Face" Scott :)

  • @erucaesounds  Feb 2022

Thanks for your kind thoughts on Longing, much appreciated! And I agree (always in a rush to post)..... the vocals need to come up and also my solo guitar is a little too harsh.... I was using a Gretsch Duojet, which is usually great for mellow phrasing, but not here, I already redid it with a Les Paul on the neck pickup. Anyway, thanks again!

  • @musicbykatie  Feb 2022

Hi Scott. On twitch you only need 50 followers and an average of more than 3 viewers throughout one month of streaming. Or, if you use distrokid as a distributor, there's a work around where you can become an affiliate immediately. I would make a profile and start looking around the music section of twitch to get started and get some insight on the platform and how it works.

  • @cloudboy  Feb 2022

Hey Scott. I used a 3Dio Free Space Pro II on "In the In Between". I was lucky enough to be gifted it for a project I was working on. Thanks for listening.

  • @hbusse  Feb 2022

Thanks so much for taking time to listen to (and recommend!) In Peace. So glad you liked it!

  • @arkka  Feb 2022

    Thanks for the comment!

  • @fearlessflight2014  Feb 2022

Can you send them to [email protected]?

  • @airbagtester  Feb 2022

    Thanks Scott :)

  • @fearlessflight2014  Feb 2022

Where did you send them? I haven’t discovered them…

  • @mikedebenham  Feb 2022

Cheers, Scott. Yeah, let's try for another collab. Can't make any promises on being serious, but will do my best. Have a great FAWM.

  • @kenmattsson  Feb 2022

Du skrev att du pratar svensk! Finns det andere svensk-spåkinge männishor har i FAWM?

  • @davidsnyder Feb 2022

Hey Scott, thanks for your comment on Free Fawming. Of course I used your arrangement spreadsheet! :)

  • @jcooper Feb 2022

Thanks Scott. Hopefully my to write a few

  • @berni1954  Feb 2022

You may not end FAWM as one of a pair of FAWMERS using Tracktion Waveform. I just checked it out and it looks very interesting.

  • @jacobeverettwallace  Jan 2022

Hey Scott! Yeah, honestly have no idea what I'll do this year. Maybe some lyrics from me could work.

  • @akokulit Jan 2022

Hey there! Thanks for passing by! Yes, very much open to collaborate. Looking forward to this month.

  • @johnstaples  Jan 2022

    Hey Scott! Happy FAWMing!

  • @davidsnyder Jan 2022

Hi Scott! I found you after you found me. :)

  • @elesimo  Jan 2022

Oh, it's free! just upload the art, choose the items you want, and set a price. The items are printed on demand, so there's no minimum number and you don't have to pay anything!

  • @elesimo  Jan 2022

Hi, Scott! You can find the t-shirt for sale here: https://teespring.com/slothcore-republic-t-shirt?pid=46&cid=2739

I used the art that I made for the album (https://slothcore.bandcamp.com/releases). All the profit (~10 per shirt) go to Sloth conservation societies! :)

  • @halfwalk  Jan 2022

Hey there, thanks for the welcome-back and the kind words! Yes I was "funky lime" on KVR but I don't really use that site anymore. I haven't really done much music in the past couple years, but I've suddenly found myself very excited about FAWM this time around. Looking forward to your tunes!

  • @oldlostjohn Jan 2022

Hi Scott, good to see you're still around, fellow FAWM veteran! I'll try my best to meet your high expectations, and look forward to hearing some good stuff from you too.

  • @metalfoot  Jan 2022

Yes, agreed. Have you heard the new Vector album from last year? Also really good.

  • @zecoop  Jan 2022

Absolutely can go full on Purple. Great pedals and amazing what they can reproduce. :)

  • @piney Jan 2022

Thank you! Looking forward to hearing your tunes this FAWM!

  • @dreamscuba  Jan 2022

    Team Bigsby here we come!!

  • @fearlessflight2014  Jan 2022

Let’s do it! Send me something once they open up the FAWMgates.

  • @zecoop  Jan 2022

Sweet! I haven’t played a Bigsby but suspect I would like them. I am not a whammy bar driving kind of player. My Jazzmaster style slight wobble is more like it and that fits Bigsby as well. Enjoy!

  • @jmadison  Jan 2022

Hi Scott. I'm looking forward to your bible blessings influenced songs. Happy fawming!

  • @cts  Jan 2022

Haha! I know, right? But it's all good. The cover art was a big hit for 50/90. Got lots of compliments and of course I name-dropped you. And you know what? I'm gonna make that French Horn work for me. LOL!

  • @timfatchen  Jan 2022

Hi Scott! Off we go again!

  • @hummingbear  Jan 2022

Welcome back to another year of creative fun!
