Influences: Broad: Ades to ABBA..... Zubeldia to Zappa
Technical by trade, musical by training in 2019 I took on a project to write a song a week for a year (see link) I didn’t write as much in 2020 but completed Fawm with 15 songs including one very fun collaboration - that was before COVID! In 2021 I’ll be making the most of the lockdown to push myself during FAWM and see what I can produce.
In 2021 i made a concept album. ‘The marriage trap’ 14 songs about the development, collapse, reconnection and ultimate end of a dis functional couple.
This year is different- I have time and leisure on my side so I’m doing a road trip round the US drawing inspiration as I go - but I’ve got 15 rather than 28 days to finish before I fly back to the UK - should be fun….
you can follow my progress here: http://www.letojog.uk
2021: All the lyric sheets with TABs and Acoustic and voice demos are available here:

I’ve almost finished reproducing these songs - which you can find in the recorded / re-recoded folder of the above link.

Thanks Rich! Do you do 50/90? I mean, we could try and do something before then, but I tend to be a little less active in the gaps between FAWM and 50/90 :)
Oh I beg your pardon, just re-listening and of course that's right! And makes a lot of sense in context. Plus I get to listen to the song again, which is an added treat. Cheers!
Thanks for checking out "Under", I loved getting to unleash some screams this FAWM. Cheers!
Thanks for your comment on "Under". Right after I wrote this song, Tool was the first band name I had in my head. And I am happy, that this made me team up with @chrismyth02 who recorded badass vocals. We will rerecord it with real instruments later the year. The drums mess up one's brain, cause they sound like a waltz but they ain't. The verse is 3/4 + 3/4 + 2/4 = 8/4. Chorus is 3/4.
Perfect, well considered, sensible. Thanks so much. Exactly what I wanted,
Thanks for listening and your kind comments. We were away for the last 6 songs we wrote so could only manage one take phone recordings but will be giving them a fuller production soon. :)
Thank you so much for listening and commenting. May the FAWM be with you always!
The toast is cooked to perfection - a toast to you, for your efforts and skill!
Well I got half way there this year - production quality far higher than previous years, but with a substantial amount of travelling soaking up my time I simply didn't get going until the fourth week of feb - and by then it was too late - nevertheless I'm pleased with my output and I'll be back next year all guns blazing! Thanks everyone for a great FAWM
Thank you for your comment - I do sincerely hope 'Toast' isn't giving you as much cause for consternation!
Haha, thank you mate! My agent has already been in touch with John Lewis. Fingers crossed ;)
Thanks a lot for your kind words on "Love lasts forever". It's been a quick fun take, I didn't take myself seriously. Funny how many people say something good on the vocals though I'd never ever call myself a vocalist! Its even the opposite: I only sing sketches to explain ideas and they never go public! My comfort zone is composition, arrangement and production. I have no idea if I can and would pull It off as full band recording
because I don't own recording gear and I can't perform these chords on piano and guitar. But on FAWM you never know what happens. Maybe somebody with better instrumental and playing skills jumps in.
Hey there, thank you so much for commenting on Alive! I feel humbled that people actually like to listen to my voice. :)
Thanks for your kind words on theory of mind!
Thanks man, they’re just the stock horns in Logic, but I tend to play around a lot with the articulations to get them to feel more like a real performance. Saving up for Earth, Wind & Fire though!!
Well, if you are in fact here tomorrow, would you like to meet up with me and my wife Patti? I have a basement studio, and Patti plays drums... I play bass and guitar. We could do something perhaps.
Or just have lunch or something.
We are in "Northeast" DC, so not sure where you are of course.
You can reach me at [email protected].
So it's Thursday, and I just listened to Michael Cohen Defence. So is today the Thursday you're in Washington DC? I had this idea of seeing what you're up to when you're here. But it may now be too late.
Absolutely crack away! Thank you for thinking of me!
Lol, OMG I love the Adventure Awaits... picture I took on the side of the building of the girl stripping like a curtain away to the hidden adventures that there are to be still had. :P I put it on my profile!!
Make sure you wear both your pants; American & British Versions... while in NY, it's a bit nippy outside for sure!![on a side note](I read that pants in slang is "nonsense or not that good aka bad..." though I took it to mean funny AF(AS F*CK) when some people used the word 'pants'... hmmm I'm in a thought bubble pondering...) Maybe the word evolved again & they are late in updating it online!! on slang.com or wherever~ hmmm Though lol? I think you meant overly bad for good or was something bad omg lol don't want to hurt my pea brain... anyways I know it was a form of banter :P
That sounds AWESOME!! Have a blast around the USA!! Happy FAWMing!! Just left you a post if approved on your site thingie fyi!! In case you're wondering who the F IS THAT ?
Thanks - got it now. I love it. Smooth as coldbrew.
Although I still have a certain affection for the original. It has a wonderful 'live' feel. Possibly retroactively, but still.
Hi, Richard.
Alas, no - the last correspondence I have from you is your reply from the message I sent via the 5090 (Oct 29).
I even had a look in the spam folder, but it was either never there or already lost to history.
Can you please send it to me again? The same address should work fine, but [email protected] is an alternative. Cheers.
In Washington DC there's a Tuesday night open mic that I like.
