I’m not that musically talented. But occasionally I like to write, so I’m trying my hand at lyrics. Some are “to the tune of” other songs. For others, I had absolutely no tune in my head. Also, my job is super boring, so this gives me something to do.
Also, I kind of feel like my lyrics are more poetry, than lyrics...but I guess that's not so bad. They can be similar...I think.

I'd suggest, if you don't have a tune for a thing but want to make one, make up something while singing into your phone then listen to it. If you like it, keep it, and if you don't, try again.
As to starting on the right note, that is one of the reasons I like having an instrument to play, but there are also pitch-pipe aps, so you can tell it to play a note so you'll know where to start. Again, try one and if it works great, if it's too high or too low for your voice, try a different one until you get one that suits, and make a note that that's where you want to start that song. (Though that might change if you're dealing with a cold or something similar.)
Good luck and it was a pleasure working with your lovely lyrics!
The link going to dropbox worked fine!
Your voice is fine too, especially if that's you with a cold. You have a sweet tone and are nicely on pitch. With a few simple pointers about stuff like breathing to support your notes you'd be even better. But you shouldn't be afraid to record yourself singing your other FAWM songs when you do have a tune in mind.
OK, let me see what I can do with that song.
Oh, are you willing to let me put your actual name on Enchanted? Up to you of course, I can just keep it in my notes as lyrics by Redhauer if that's what you prefer. :)
Do you play guitar or sing at all? I can plan to make the song singable and playable for someone with limited range and/or guitar skills, if it would bring you joy to sing it yourself, even if only for you.
And certainly poetry is like lyrics. The best lyrics work as poetry, in my opinion.
Alrighty, let me know what you think of this version, I hope you like it. It's not as raucous as maybe I envisioned, but my neighbors probably appreciate that. Apologies in advance for a few syllable switcheroos. Sing along?
(wonky link moved to the song)
Howdy! Nice to meet you and welcome. I con do a demo recording with guitar and vocals, probably this afternoon, and see what you think!
Don't let nosebleed voice stop you. It held me up for a long time but...usually, if you don't sing it, it'll never get sung.
Hello and welcome to FAWM!
