Influences: Bob Dylan and the Beatles are all time favorites. Others include Elvis Presley, Woody Guthrie, Mel Torme, Benny Bell, Cab Calloway, Jay-Z, The Strokes, U2, Leadbelly, Eddie Cantor, Hank Williams, Roy Acuff, Billy Murray and Led Zeppelin. Fast forward to some newer stuff: Hey Violet, Car Seat Headrest, Kendrick Lamar, Hozier, Vance Joy, George Ezra, Bruno Mars, Labrinth, Lewis Capaldi.
Grew up in Brooklyn. Currently in NJ. Just living day to day. Mostly strike out anything original on guitar and vocals, but have been getting more into bizarre soundscapes and instrumentations using mobile composition/mixing apps.

Hey Paul, thanks for your nice thoughts about my "Rose" song. I'm with you -- William Blake was a visionary genius, one who was hardly recognized as such until many years after he turned to dust. His "Sick Rose" is a powerful work, but in my view it was at odds with his almost heathen, passionate heart as regards sex and love -- he hardly saw sex as corrupting to the spirit! Anyway, thanks again for taking the time to comment.

As poets go, Henry Lawson is fairly obscure in the US. A rough contemporary of Kipling. I found him when another FAWMer set one of his poems to music last year.

And also, thanks a lot for eventually giving a try to the "I will not hurt you again"- and the "A good son"-lyrics... I would look very forward to hearing them getting alive with your music... And as I always say, please, feel free to alter the words in ANY way you like, to change the words, add parts or completely delete parts of the lyrics - just as you regard it as necessary to make it fit to the song that enters your mind... FYI- the only place where @paulroe officially works is from the forums; it gets shown then in your recent activity... doesn't work from soundboard or comments in your song itself- so best thing is to write the people that leave a message to you in your song on their soundboard... I re-edited and seem to keep re-editing the um 'talk about the weather instead of complaining to me' lyrics,, what do you think?

Hi, people have to get permission if they want to collaborate with your lyrics and it's set up to combine you and your collab partner in the song to both lists in each other's profiles' so you can see the song going from their profile song list or yours...
