Influences: Dave Frishberg, Cole Porter, Randy Newman, Vince Guaraldi, Wynton Kelly, Horace Silver
Jazz pianist / ASCAP songwriter from Washington, DC. Wrote my first song at a pretty late age, inspired by a discussion about rhubarb. Fortunately for everyone, I stopped after two vegetable songs and moved on to other subjects.
Check out my album "Making Up For Lost Time" to hear some of my original jazz songs. Planning a bunch of singles this year under the name "Groove Park"

Thanks. Are you planning to do 50/90? I'll be there!
Should be okay. Just making sure that you realize there are already two versions up -- I'm guessing by your words that you saw that. I don't think Berni or Justin will mind. I have to say that I love each and every one of your influences, so it'll be cool to hear what you come up with.
I'm glad you like my "Here For You" lyric. Yes, it is a waterfall of words; once I started filling the lines there was no turning back. Feel free to play with and edit it--that's the spirit of Fawm. After a few days' break, I might try some recasting with fewer lines. At the same time, major changes don't always work! The song's most important idea is the epiphany about true love. Cheers
I love what you've done!
Hi Oren, I wrote a lyric "Here For You" with your "Friday Feelings" tune in mind: https://fawm.org/songs/132460/ It looks like your composition has generated a lot of interest, so no worries if you're collab'ing with others. I can create a new tune if necessary.

Here's my first attempt at a bass part for Friday Feelings using fretted Jazz bass. Let me know what needs changing and I will do a version on the fretless.
Laments fact that he can only see her on friday . Sugg;ests tjat she join him , m;arraiage or other and make seven fridays in a week
So here is an idea for the C section:
AbM9 for 2 or 4 bars
Gm11 for 2 or 4 bars (Gm6 as an alternate to keep the Eb)
Fm11 which maintains the g note from prior two chords again for 2 or 4 bars
Cm11 for 2 or 4 bars
Vamp on that for a few times through.
I realize that it’s a bit clichė. I’m really not well informed on jazz. Took the into to improvisation online course from Berklee and struggled.
See what you think. With as beautiful of a cadence you made you can probably even hear this suggested cadence in your head and think “rookie!” I have no issue if you say thanks and then pass up my suggestion. I would love to learn from you!
Hi Oren, a nice surprise to see you're a fellow fawmer. I heard you perform a few years back at Diane D's house, with Barbara P. etc. I have enjoyed your "...Lost Time" disc and had wanted to talk with you about songwriting. Enjoy the craziness! Andrew Trotter
Thanks for the nice comment I was thinking that as well..
