Influences: A lot of old weird folkies. Took guitar lessons from Joe Bethancourt years ago. Learned more music theory from Joe than anyone else.

Yes, there have probably been a few rock singers over the years who have lost some of their vocal abilities but Bruce Dickinson still sounds great
Hi Mark - thanks for all your great comments! Congrats on a successful month!
As far as the guitar on Breathe Out - it's actually my old Taylor. It has a bunch of issues and needs repair, but the Breedlove, unfortunately, has developed a resonant buzz that rendered it nearly unusable - I'm getting it checked out. C'est la vie
Thank you for your nice comment on my song "Slightly Spooky". The Baritone uke is a nice change-up from guitar once in a while. It can take a song somewhere else.
That's just me singing a spooky harmony on the haunted guitar song. With a little practice (and who has time for that in a skirmish?) I could probably do 3 or 4 parts instead of 2.
I'm liking this having more than one track to play with thing, even if I'm still pretty bad at it.
Really enjoying your songs, though I may not get to all of them. The first time we were in circle, all I remember from you is space songs (and I am always more into fantasy) and no humour. With every FAWM and every virtual circle, you add more variety of topics, musical styles and emotions. I look forward so much now to everything you do. And I hope you put out another album soon.
Thanks for the comment on Silver Stitches. I enjoyed playing with the blues style on ukulele. I may have to delve a bit deeper into learning the style as it was a lot of fun to play.
Try again on my Wave after Wave
Thank you for the clarification on Henry Lawson! Cool that he is from down under. That whole area of colonialism inspired writings is a blind spot that I intend to work on, probably through audio books and other spoken narrative recordings.
Thank you for the listen, and your comment on Queen of Swords. The poet Joyce Kilmer was famous for his poem "Trees"..sad he died in WW1.

Thanks for the listen. The ambivalence I was talking about was who, or what, the Pilot might be. I think most people think he was referring to the Christian God. An understandable assumption given his time and place, but by no means a universal belief.
Oh that would have been a great idea and I actually have one sitting on the table next to me!
This is a from lyrics that you commented on ty... It was collaborated on and is here if you wish to hear 'D Minor Chord' https://fawm.org/songs/130623/
"The bass is very low in the mix" Well, it was an acoustic one-take. I did fiddle with the equalizer a bit, but if I'd had two tracks I'd have definitely turned it up more. Or more time and played it louder (or pulled out the amp and hooked it up...for a skirmish? Yeah, no.) I'm new enough to playing bass, I'm just glad that it worked at all!
Thank you Mark! After listening to your songs I got brave and put up my first song.
Hiya Mark! Thanks for the comment on my lyrics to "Saddest Key" aka "D Minor Chord"!! Posted this inside the song's Liner Notes:
(As Nigel Tufnel, the waggish musician protagonist of the 1984 mockumentary Spinal Tap, said when putting his sentimental “Lick My Love Pump” in D minor: “It's the saddest of all keys. I don't know why, but it makes people weep, instantly, when you play it!”)
Demo is now up for Dragon Hoard. My ukulele hoard is small (one tenor, one soprano, and one bass). My instrument hoard is larger. Song, crafting (tatting, crochet, costuming), book, board game, and video game hoards are quite extensive. I am also a hoarder of hobbies...
