Influences: Lucinda Williams, Willie Dixon, Brandy Clark, Elvis Costello, Dwight Yoakam, Kasey Musgraves, Smokey Robinson--mostly people who tell a compelling story with few wasted words. Did I forget Dolly Parton? --truly a master of stories in song.
I've been doing FAWM and 50/90 since 2018, and attended two FAWMstocks in Delaware (I hope they can happen again!)
I don"t worry too much about hitting the final numbers. I've had a lot of distractions this past year.
As I've said before, I tend to write songs with realistic imagery and I generally prefer to keep 'em short.
I've always appreciated the on-line and special in-person friendships I've made in this group, and the positive attitude of so many creative people.

Thanks for the rock opera comment!
Thanks for listening to my song, Head Cold, and adding your nice comments! I really had a blast making it.
Hey Mark, here are my 3 rock-opera songs that I mentioned last night:
https://fawm.org/songs/126834/
https://fawm.org/songs/129621/
https://fawm.org/songs/130553/
YOU ASKED:
"Does your TRIGGER WARNING qualify this song for the Week 3 Challenge?"
Probably not and I already wrote the definitive take on that theme :-)
However, full marks for picking up on that deliberate pun. I don't know about the US, but in the UK radio and TV shows are constantly issuing "Trigger Warnings" before content. Such as: "You may like to skip on one minute and twelve seconds because this section mentions, rape or suicide or alcoholism, etc."
WTF? Since when did we become children who cannot hear certain words without triggering a trauma?
Thank you so much for your kind words about my voice. Yeah, how dare I speak for the moon! :)
Regarding Synthesizer V, it's a vocal synthesizer--the more famous example of a vocal synthesizer is Vocaloid. Hatsune Miku is a Vocaloid. Basically, they create a voicebank using multiple samples of a human voice. You would then draw the notes on a piano scroll in the software and input lyrics to make it "sing." Synthesizer V is the next generation of vocal synthesis because it uses deep learning AI. Solaris is a new voicebank for Synthesizer V and in my opinion, a real game changer not only because of AI, but because they sampled a professional singer (Emma Rowley).
LOLOLOL Too funny!!! Thanks for your umm... "kind" comments! LOL
Thanks for all the song listens and comments, Mark!
Thanks for your kind comments on "We Don't Have a Clue"!
Thanks for your comment on "Waiting"- now to see if I can write something longer than 2 minutes!
Thanks for the listen and comment on 'Molly Bloom'!
I am not sure which perp this guy was, but I seem to remember he was British. Your question got me Googling. Apparently there are a couple of beautiful female criminals, too.
Thanks for your comments!
Thanks for your comments on I Wanted to Be a Hero. It is hard to write something complete in under 60 minutes, but thanks to your suggestion, I might just keep working on this one :)
I would like to thank you so much for your wonderful and thoughtful comment... You are too kind...
You definitely "got" my "Better Late than Never". We often accept apologies publicly, but privately the hurt lies in the depths.
Would the primate thread be primarily for primates? What about pirates? Aren't they also primates (even if human)?
Do hobos still exist? I don't know. Do apes have pubes? lol I can see this is
a year for contemplation! ;D Yes, hobos still exist, especially in places like California where weather is more "apt" for that. There are some in Maine as well, though. Up north, they live deep in the woods, but come out once in awhile. In the Portland area, it's more the coastal areas. I have no idea where they go in the winter. Maybe they hike the Appalachian Trail until they reach somewhere warm... like homeless snowbirds! lol
Oh, lord. I come here to comment on your comment about my Lab Monkey song, and I see you've got an Ape + Pube song. Thanks. Thanks a lot. I'll have to get a new laptop since I spat (more like vomited) out my coffee on this one.
Thanks for your kind comments, though. It would have been ironic if the monkeys had ended up as organ grinders. Just another kind of exploitation.
Thanks for the listen and comments on my uke song!
Yes I could've been to Boston and back. Hope your loving that new baby@
Mark, Let's do the damn thing!
Thanks Mark, looking forward to hearing your songs this year!
Aww hello! Looking forward to yours as well!
Mark! Hey man. I thought I had dropped a "howdy-do" to you already but apparently not. My bad. And I see that we both have the glorious French Horn avatar. Nifty. Happy FAWMing and feel free to stop by the factory.
Hi Mark!! I will be coming around to hear your creations!! Happy FAWMing!!
Haha! We'd be quite the pair now, wouldn't we??!
Woohooo! We meet again! Wishing you the best FAWM ever this year!! Hope you are well and staying safe up there in cold country!
Happy FAWM 2022, Mark!
Hi Mark, looking forward to what you come up with this FAWM!
Hi Mark, welcome to the latest and greatest FAWM ever.
