Thank you for listening to a couple of my pieces and leaving such nice comments. I appreciate it. :)
Thanks for your comment on Skeptical, Mardey! I actually re-did the vox, 'cause I really didn't like the way they turned out -- kinda flat because it was late and I wasn't adjusting my monitor mix well or something! Anyway, I might re-think that whole thing. Just saw your note now -- I kind of deleted the original vox trax, but I still kept the original mix. I'm sure I an re-do them in the same somewhat flat way! Anyway, I swapped the old one back :)
Thanks for listening to some of my tracks! I've been checking out your tracks on soundcloud and really dig the style. To answer your question about what I used for rhythm: I use an electronic drum kit (roland td-1). I'm a guitarist by heart, but try my best to learn the drums as well, so I'm really happy you liked the rhythm.
'You Suck Me In' has been musicated ! https://fawm.org/songs/134302/
Cowboy Bebop is a short anime series. The characters are on a spaceship called Bebop and they are perpetually poor bounty hunters. Netflix, I think, just did a live action remake this year, though I haven't seen it.
Hi! Digging your sound, watchlisting to come back later. Congrats on win!
Thanks for your comments on "Out For A Walk". The reverb on the drums is built into the loops so it's out of my hands. I might be able to process them more but not during a skirmish.
Hi Mardey! I regards to your question my work flow is a combination of ukulele, reaper daw and band in box. That and bout a hundred skirmishes over the last five years lol
thanks for your comments on 'rosetta stone'! it is my first song in this year's FAWM but i have participated in 2 FAWMS over the past 5 years.
Thanks for your kind words about my song, "So Hard To Say Goodbye" - really appreciate it! :-)
Thanks for your comment! I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who just goes with the VSTs. It just takes me forever to even find where I put those shorty patch cords!
Mardey, the link to your song on the weird painting skirmish is broken. I don't see it on your page either.
Thanks. I lived in Oakhurst, CA for the best 7 years of my life, watched the best company I've ever worked for burn down on the news... I'm so sad all this is happening to the most beautiful state in the country. Stay safe out there!!
No problem with the shift in time for the skirmish. 8pm CET it is then.
Oh no, I was just waiting for an actual actuary to come along and hear me trashing their job… hope you’re not offended! :) thanks for listening!
thank you for your comment!! :)
Yeah, it's a great movie! Though also one of the most confusing ones I've ever seen, haha.
Thanks a lot for the kind comments on our songs.
Thanks for the kind comments on Come on back to me.
The Guild is a few years older than the guy wielding it :D
I've been using the 57 more recently. This is the first time I've tried getting guitar and vocals with one dynamic mic, and it worked just fine.
Thanks for your comments on Tropic of Cancer! I'm a sucker for mellotron sounds.
Freight Train is fixed! Thanks for telling me.
On Freight Train, I can whittle the chorus down so it reads like a verse if that'll help? Anything I can do.
Hi - in reply to your question about the rubber band thing on my song, it is rather unimaginatively just an acoustic guitar, with damped strings through a chorus pedal and a delay. I may now try and see what I can do with a rubber band...
Thank you so much for coming to listen and your lovely comment - haven't we all loved to hate a tedious magical super guy at some point? :D
Thanks for the kind comments! Yep, it's my studio B-3 with a Leslie 251 cabinet loaded with an early 47 amp I rebuilt and converted to drive 2-speed motors.
Hahaha! Detachable Penis... That takes me back! Yes, I can definitely see a vibe shared with that song. :)
Have you seen the prices for the USA made early 80s bullets? They are nuts! But the tele necks are just about the easiest neck for me to play, so the guitar has gotten a lot of use over the years. Drums are EZDrummer, Americana kit (yeah that's not supposed to be used like this! but I like the trashy sound) midi bits and pieces from a Groove Monkey Classic Rock midi pack, the loops are from the "Space Truck" subset from that pack so that tells you what that is from, although they were intended for 130 bpm and this is 155. :)
Can't wait to hear the hooks n ditties. I think we're both mostly lone wolfs but I'm down to collab if that's your thing.
Loved your songs last year. I hope you'll be back for more this year.
