Post-FAWM 2022 First win in 5 years! Congrats all :) I'm out for good now, see you at 50/90?

Class of 2011.

Loved your comments on my waltz. If you want another autoharp tune, check out Daidi's Ditty. For things sung with autoharp, I used the #autoharp hashtag.

  • @arthurrossi Mar 2022

I would like to thank you very, very much for your fantastic, that thoughtful and that kind comments on "Yugoslavia" and "Good and bad girls"! I have read them several times... I appreciate it a lot... Thank you so much!

  • @prsongsmith  Mar 2022

Thanks for the kind comments on "Analogue Man"! I kinda want to know what happens next as well -- I was definitely inspired by David Bowie on this one, and now you've got me thinking I need to do a whole "Analogue Man" concept album... Stay tuned!

  • @bradbrubaker  Mar 2022

Really appreciated your recent comment. To have a listener reflecting on my past work while listening to the current stuff feels good.

  • @ampersandman  Mar 2022

Oh wow, thanks a lot for your recommendation! I'm not here as much as I hoped to ... seeing this just made my weekend!

  • @nagavaeoe  Mar 2022

Hey Tim, thank you so much for taking the time to listen and comment. You are really amazing with words. I struggle with them. Especially lyrics. They slow me down big time. This year I just went for it. Mostly intentionally vague, because I feel like it's less risky and lets imagination take over. It rare when I get personal like Satellite and Write a Song. Anyway, thanks again. I will catch up with my listening this week I hope.

  • @jeff9  Mar 2022

Damn, Tim. Your words of praise for "Wilted Flowers" make my head swim. Thank you, sir, for taking a listen and actually digging in to catch what it was all about.

  • @metalfoot  Mar 2022

Ignited testes sounds like a really painful situation, just saying. Thanks for the love on Check Mic!

  • @chroes  Mar 2022

Hey y thank you for your helpful comment on "We're going down". I have to do my homework now, look up the titles and bands you dropped. That is super helpful. And you are right, of course, I do lean on the few tools I have used so far. It'll do me good to learn different ways to achieve dynamics, no matter for this song or the next. Thank you for pointing it out!

  • @jeff9  Feb 2022

Wow, thank you, Tim, for the deep dive into my FAWM catalogue this year and for all the encouraging words. I’m exceptionally flattered to hear such from an artist like yourself.

You obviously have an extraordinary imagination—the vampire theme you’ve got running through much of your stuff does conjure up a bit of the concept consistency LTE has in Texas-Jerusalem Crossroad, including sone echoes of that work in the ideas of blood as both a cleansing/healing medium and a ritual element. Ditto for crucifiction of a deity figure as a sacrifice that liberates or empowers other souls. Or maybe that’s too sophomoric, but I feel a link is in there someplace.

  • @mandolinda  Feb 2022

Thanks. I am happy to provide nuts and bolts. My music theory is limited so I am not too familiar with correct terminology, although my FAWM University has helped tremendously. I had this ADAM and EVE line and worked it backwards to simple apple pie. I am so glad my efforts are finding a sweet spot. I am still a keen learner. Thank you very much for the comments.

  • @rayboneor  Feb 2022

Thanks for your attentive listens and perceptive comments this year! (My teenage offspring appreciated your punk stylings on that Sharon Tate song)

  • @jeff9  Feb 2022

Thanks, Tim. Haven't listened to LTE in a while so I'm gonna take a fresh dip into the Lone Star baptismal font here shortly. Not sure if what I have is from the original album or the remaster, and I think I may be missing a few of the numbers. I only seem to have eight of the twelve. Now I may have to spring for the rest.

  • @nadine Feb 2022

Thanks for explaining! Antithesis can mean opposite lyrics, different narrator, other genre, speedup / slowdown? I guess I'll have some fun doing this cause I love remixing and arranging. But I don't have the time. This week / weekend is busy with collabs.

  • @nadine Feb 2022

I heard from Angela Carter but I never read her books. It seems to be a rather classic approach on vampires? Fang Slothcore? You're hitting it!

    What is anti-syn?

  • @nadine Feb 2022

Thanks for stopping by! So you're composing a fang pop concept album? You know some jokes in the forum turn into real genres. Just look at slothcore last year!

"Love lasts forever" is part of the #morph2 chain. I listened to the first 30 seconds of the previous song and it has that sultry jazzy feeling. The lyrics were quite dark, so I took 80% of the lyrics and added some gothic humour. I know what style you're speaking of but I have no idea about the term.

  • @jeff9  Feb 2022

Never known anyone on FAWM ever to reference Lift To Experience like you did on @toms's piece. I thought they were obscure in the extreme. You have therefore lured me into checking out your catalogue.

  • @toms  Feb 2022

Genres are so post-modern! We are post-post-modern! I've only been to Texas once! Never heard that band, but that was awesome. :) Again, thank you so much for the kind comment & the listen!

  • @nadine Feb 2022

I just listened to your #fang-pop songs and was directly inspired for some weirdo stuff lol :D

  • @nadine Feb 2022

Thanks for your comment on "The World's Most SImplest Man". Yes, @seppo completely rocked the performance. I just couldn't help myself and add some brasses haha.

  • @cowboydick Feb 2022

You turned FSY's "Sharon Tate" lyrics into the perfect Black Flag homage -- the perfect setting, as is the use of "withal," of course.

  • @rayboneor  Feb 2022

You want me to post that masterpiece? You gonna do it? The world is waiting

  • @rayboneor  Feb 2022

What would that song be called?
Withal? Blood is Blood? Or the current title? You decide :)

  • @rayboneor  Feb 2022

That Tate song is pretty effing awesome. I love how you've turned the closing line into a chant/chorus. I was laughing pretty much all the way through, though you sell this with tremendous punk rock earnestness. I think the very idea of punk rockers using the word "withal" is what I found so hilarious. As for the nsfw tag, I seem to drop some gentle swearing into just about every song. Love it!

  • @toms  Feb 2022

No, really, don't, the Class 5 is in fact really fizzy.

  • @toms  Feb 2022

Thank you for the kind comments! That guitar is a 1983 made in USA John Page designed Fender Bullet H2, a Boss DS-1, and a Marshall Class 5, so all dirt cheap student grade stuff. :)

  • @zeekle1998  Feb 2022

Hey, thanks for your kind comments on Bloody Valentine. I’m definitely no Slash, but I’ll take the compliment.

  • @coolparadiso  Feb 2022

I went to the Billy Connolly school of delivery! I am willing to go the whole length of my time to fire home one punch line. :-)

  • @rayboneor  Feb 2022

Thanks for the kind comment. If I might be so bold, I think I can tell you why that "wasted labors and hallway races in our long and trackless days" line works: It takes a parent to understand. Those days were full of crushing boredom and moments of transcendent joy. They went on forever, and we knew that would be gone before we knew it. We slogged through them, trying to make our own track, trying to maintain our sanity, trying to hang on to the transcendence. And then...

Anyway, it's gauche to talk about one's "art," especially when such reductive, prosaic talk puts everything into what I'm now calling the Pantheon of No Shit Sherlock. Thanks again!

  • @coolparadiso  Feb 2022

Ha ha not doing the big sell but if you want you can subscribe, its on all channels as well, itunes, spotify, iheart, tunein, stitcher, diesel, google play. Its got a big following more than half out of Fawm. Coming up we have guests like headfirst only, pearlmanhattan, daveyboy and Guatacoop as well as about a dozen original songs per episode.

  • @coolparadiso  Feb 2022

Don't think that's my podcast. Mine has been running for 2 years and is called Songwriters Nd original songs https://www.buzzsprout.com/1149539/episodes/9971706

  • @steviej Feb 2022

hey, thanks for listening and commenting on my song "Sometimes I Lie" the garage song. I'm hearing this quite a bit about my definition of garage being totally different to others. in the late 90's and early 2000's in the UK we had a big craze over up tempo RnB often accompanied by an MC and it was named "Garage" music you should check some out it's very uplifting haha.

  • @jorh  Feb 2022

Thank you for your lovely and detailed comments on ‘let go of the past’. They made my day :) and great that you think it would fit well to music

  • @dasbinky  Feb 2022

Hi Tim, love what you did with the idea from the forum! No need to tag me as a collaborator though, that's all you. I relinquish any and all rights to the phrase "all the things on all the tracks" and any related works to you in perpetuity.
    Stay awesome!

  • @ajna1960  Feb 2022

Hope it was ok, but I collab'd you in the 'response' way of thinking ;)

  • @nagavaeoe  Feb 2022

Hey man, glad to see you back! Thanks for letting me know about my bad link. It was so late it! Looking forward to hearing your work!

  • @mikehex  Feb 2022

Great to see you here Tim, have a great FAWM!

  • @majordanby  Jan 2022

Hey fellow Catch 22 fan. Happy FAWMing.
