I am an Irish writer who lives in Scotland. I write lyrics and work with musicians from around the world to get them turned into songs. You can see some of my lyrics, and listen to the published songs, on my lyric writing website www.LyricSlinger.com
Happy to collaborate with other FAWMers on any of the lyrics that I post.
Thanks for the kind comments on Mryia Farewell. I wasn't familiar with Empire of the Clouds so had to look it up. Damn but Bruce can still sing can't he?
Thanks for the March comment on 'A Wish For You'!
Do please make all the effort you can to let your son discover hip hop lol
Ahh my son informs me that he no longer has that playlist. He looked at me as if I was asking about something from the 18th century. However he says he just searches for clean versions. Also Spotify has a parental filter that will exclude anything explicit.
Surprisingly I had it in me to finish the song I started writing for our random collab challenge, ended up a bit more melancholic than I had envisioned when I asked you to write some positive and happy lyrics :) hope you like it
Train and gunshots added
You are very welcome, enjoyed getting it done, eventually.
Can you add me as a collab on get Home to You so i can add the demo
Thank you for a beautiful lyric. Song is posted.
Hi Simon
I’m struggling with finding energy and creativity to do music right now, so will most probably not be able to do anything with your lyrics, so feel free to just post them and maybe someone else could use them instead.
Nice to be paired with you for the collab. Spring will be here soon, and I wonder what will happen with the seasonal change. The world keeps turning, and we are all getting older. Are we any wiser?
Thanks for the comment on "At your Command"; love Iron Maiden!
Fun! I didn't expect so many songs on this topic! There is no new movie so why :D
Thanks for your comments! I'm glad you enjoyed my metal stuff. I'm not a guitarist yet but I hope I can finish these songs in full productions with real guitars after FAWM.
Which of your songs has a reference on Dorian Gray? I wrote my song because I felt like this book needs a badass metal track. Couple of people wrote songs about it but most of them are ballads.
Thanks for your kind comments on Caped Crusader.
Simon! Dis I know you were over here? Sorry if it slipped my mind.
Thanks for stopping by and checking out, "Caped Crusader". It is appreciated.
Thanks for the kind comments,
Hmm after thinking a little bit, would maybe be nice with something that’s a bit upbeat and positive, since my other random collabs this year have touched upon dark themes.
Hi
I can handle most themes, you don’t need to worry to much about rhyming, and maybe stay away from swear words.
Thanks for your kind comments on "We Don't Have a Clue"!
Of course, Collision Time is way out in left field style wise for me and zecoop but it's a fun diversion!
Thanks for the comments on my collab with Tammy on 'We Haven't Got a Clue', yes indeed those are handclaps!
Thank you so much for your comments on my song The Devil’s Wife. I am glad it seemed timeless to you.
Hi Simon, Thanks so much for your thoughtful comments on both Beautiful People Do Ugly Things and The Window To Your Soul. Much Appreciated :)
Much obliged for the kind words on The Window To My Soul, Simon. Not too difficult to musicate a fine lyric like that one.
Good to see you here!
urrr - is there a private way of sending you my email address? If so lets do that - I feel like posting it here is a recipe for spambottage, but maybe that's paranoid? Alternatively, if you don't mind prematurely letting the cat out of the Schrödinger of course - if you could post them up with me as collaborator that would be super, and I'll give it a look tonight - exciting!
Hello, excited to get words. Really do what you like, but if you are fishing for a starting point, why not do a song with a "the lady doth protest too much" kind of theme. Like - everythings going great, really great! We're having such a wonderful time! But with the real, less than ideal situation gradually becoming evident between the gaps. It might be fun. But that's just an idle thought - whatever you fancy.
Hello Slinger of Lyrics - it seems we've been randomly paired. I'm excited! How do you like to work? I could do music and you could do words, but I'm very happy with a more usual arrangement. Whatever you fancy really.
Hi Simon, good to see you are as prolific as ever (where do we get this stuff from?) :-)
Hi Simon. Would you mind if I had a go at interpreting 'Destroyer Of Lives'? Metal isn't quite my genre, but I can muster some fairly heavy guitars.
Thanks for your note. I hope I didn't offend you with the suggestions on It's A Long Way. It's just that it has the type of lyrics I think I could really set to music, but I think I need some rhymes to do it!
Awesome, I was going to check in later today. You could email it to me? I guess posting it doesn’t hurt either, unless it would spoil the suspense for our legion of fans. :)
Hi!
Thanks for your comment on "Went Away". Really had fun with the collab and seeing what Merrill could do with the lead guitar part which turned out to have some really rad things (particularly fond of the intro and the solo parts myself). Hope your FAWM is going well so far!
Have a good one Simon
Have a good one Simon
hello again, have a great FAWM :)
Hey! Looks like we're paired in the random collab challenge. I'm looking forward to it.
Hi, saw your comment on the Ireland thread. Happy fawming!
Happy FAWM 2022, Simon!
