Update 3/4: I wrote a Medium.com article about FAWM! https://bit.ly/35NurVz
-------------------------------------------------
It is 2022.
Is it 2022?
Dag, yo.
I have plateau'd in my accumulation of bleep-bloop machines and now stand at the bottom of Learnyertoys Mountain.
On a serious note, yet another of my close friends from my southern California DJ collective passed last year, so his memory will be a big inspiration in writing this year. The album title comes from something he said when once asked him how he was able to live with such intensity, so consistently, to which he replied, Well, you know...
Burn brightly or die.
RIP Scott Powel.
Update 2/6:
WOW. I've always heard studio monitors are pretty close to the most important piece of equipment in your studio, and I'm a believer! I'd spent the last 15ish years with my old ones and had worked with them pretty well, but I upgraded them late last year and just... WOW. What I hear on them is pretty close to what I hear on many other setups. Saves a ton of time.
Thanks to all you wonderful freaks who make this community what it is. Super stoked to be back.
I've been writing/producing electronic music under the moniker of looprication since 2000.

Thx for your kind words on " instant gratification" it was fun song/
Thank you for listening and for the kind words about my piece "Disintegration".
Sounds good dude! Hit me up anytime
also, slowly making my way through allllllll the friggin songs and people i gotta listen to still...overwhelming! will def be putting my ears on your stuff soon!
"better than you"???
Pffffft.
Just gonna take that as a joke lol
I ain't better than nobody, man.
Also, yeah we need to make stuff together - you gonna be around in 50/90? I'm slowly...SLOWLY...starting to be more...un-afraid of collab'ing. SO many people who I'd love to make music with. Its just the fear of me not being able to satisfy them or bring the quality; feeling unworthy of working with folks - yadda yadda...same stuff most creative folks with confidence problems go through, y'know. Its odd - people have reached out before numerous times to make stuff with me, yet I still feel I'm not someone who people wanna make stuff with...what kind of sense does that even make, right? Just the ol' lack of confidence and stuff, I guess. Even after all the wonderful comments here in FAWM on songs, there's still that voice saying "Nah, you actually suck, tho" Bah - dunno why I'm crying on the couch here lol Really, point is - yes, lets make music in 50/90 or even before, if you're down!
Thanks again for the listens, comments, and support!
LMAO Loop you are the best! Love the Zero Wing reference. If you've never heard it, you should check out this gabber-ish remix of that from some point in the 90s lol. SOOOOO good! I was trying to look on YouTube and there are so many that are not the legit one, but the best quality one I found was called All your base are belong to us (HQ Techno Remix)
Just saw your comment on my Argentrooper song. I would be honoured to be part of such an amazing art exposition. I can only imagine how awesome it would be!
See You In The Shadows…
Sam to you my friend!
Yeah, I guess 26 might be too much. I was secretly hoping for 28 (a double FAWM), but I've missed that mark by a few this year… Oh well.
It's been a blast & I've enjoyed all your songs this year - especially your two collabs with @captainvulpine :D You two make quite the artistic pair! I'm looking forward to more of your combined alchemy next FAWM.
Take care my friend!
See You In The Shadows…
Thanks for the listen on Tekito. Yeah, it certainly has a cyberpunk/sci-fi feel to, for sure. Hope you enjoyed it in the ear goggles on the re-listen :D
See You In The Shadows…
Enjoy being as good as possible.
I’ll hear you next year.
Greets from Vienna.
Glad you like The Stick :D Thanks for the listen & the great comment. And yes, happy birthday & merry Christmas LOL
See You In The Shadows…
Backed by popular demand: more #Rectal-Anarchy

:D
See You In The Shadows…
Hahah, pleasure's mine! If you make it here, let's share beers ;)
Thanks for my comments on 'a sleepless dream' says the guy that wrote an in depth commentary and analysis on every song I did this year.
Yeah, no. Thank YOU asshole. You better be ready to answer your phone tomorrow at some point.
Anyway, I love you and appreciate you. I'll get around to your songs soon. My memory is running super low and the system is about to crash.
Yeah, I miss those university days & the jam sessions we used to enjoy. Glad I could bring some nostalgia out for you :D
See You In The Shadows…
LOL, the Scouts have an island about 10 minutes from my house where we do a lot of camping (the aptly named Scout Island). There is a cabin on the island that we use, but some of the older Scouts will sleep in Qunizees or Lean-Toos on warmer nights. This weekend was bloody cold (the winds were quite bad & there were blizzard like conditions on Friday), so I'm sure everyone was sleeping in the Cabin. Thanks for all the great comments on my songs. They mean a lot!
See You In The Shadows…
I just had a crazy idea. Write a song that only uses the Rectal Anarchy machine. you've inspired me, my friend!
See You In The Shadows…
There's a reason the Rectal Anarchy Buzz machine is so popular with FAWMers, & I think it doesn't have anything to do with the sounds it creates ;-> I think they all just love the name!
Thanks for the great comment on Bootleg Café. Glad you enjoyed by #slothcore track.
See You In The Shadows…
Ah yes, I am familiar with that problem - I do have NI Komplete so I'm basically waiting for things to be unsupported.
That's interesting and would mean a change to my workflow but given the investment I've made in all the plug ins being able to run some of them standalone would be rather nice, and most of the Kontakt stuff will work standalone I assume
Thanks for the feedback! Honestly my Circuit Tracks is THE most useful piece of gear in my setup right now. I'm so happy with it.
So nice to read you round my page. Thx for listening and writing.
I love the mix of soft modular automatic and handmade very much. Toybox are really a great Toolbox for Reaktor.
Back to my iPad roots with Notion. I havn’t touched scoring for almost 3 years, 4? And now it seems to be the newly found love this year…
Hey man, thanks for the feedback - I listened back after your comment and damn it really is minimal.
I'm way behind but I'm looking forward to binging your stuff.
How is the Maschine/Ableton workflow? I'm very tempted by a 3 or a plus
Thanks for taking the time to listen! :) Glad you enjoyed it
Well, I’m in 23236 — so, hi fellow southsider who i found from a mutual fawmer in nz? Time and space continue to blow my mind.
Thank you for bringing a song back to my memory that I haven't thought about in forever - Come Baby Come lol
I admittedly never knew who it was by, either! Was too busy as a kid wigging out to it lol
Now it is firmly stuck in my head.
hi! appreciate the high praise about out my #4 tune , glad you dig :))
replying to your comment: i live and breathe automation at this point! i often have full pages of the stuff. many people try to work those into in-vst movements by using envelopes and LFOs but i prefer full flexibility and also to keep as many things to be happening within the actual ableton project as possible.
regarding plugins: zynaptiq's lineup is just full of bangers, pitchmap is my new favourite. i don't worry much about the price though, where i live my purchasing power doesn't allow me to just go shopping for audio software so i pirate absolutely everything (there are a couple super essential vsts i did purchase such as serum but even then i just prefer the pirated copies with the drm removed). soooo considering the price of zynaptiq plugins you can probably guess how i got my hands on it haha! try before you buy IMO, audio software very much can be hit / miss :)
Can you send me your email again or phone? [email protected] I wanted to ask your opinion on a few mixes post fawm if you’re open to it. I need a fresh set of ears. :) -ru
I luv merry-go-rounds, fast or slow. I like the jolly feeling they produce behind me bellybutton ;].
Thx for writing.
I have a lyric and tune that I think needs some electronica... interested in a collab?
Not sure if it's a metric ton of talent, maybe a couple of grams… ;) Thank you for your kind words on The Depths Of The Incision. I'm glad you enjoyed it!
See You In The Shadows…
You left the comment on our soundboard instead of the song ;
;) I’m going to listen to all of yours in half an hour. -ru
So nice to see you back. I’m going to listen to your track soon. You know I’ll love it :) -ru
Hope you have a great Fawm and look forward to your works!
Did you happen to stop by the FAWMulus Jamulus server? If so, I apologize for not being around to chat.
Loop, thanks for the drop-by. Hear ya later!
Heya. :)
Yes, I will be participating this year. Good luck with your album. :)
Hello! I am indeed back this year. Looking forward to checking out what you cook up. Hit me up if you need vocals!
Yo! Looking forward to hearing what you got cooking this February!
I'm honored you still have one of my demos! Happy FAWMing to you, and sorry to hear of your loss.
Hey man, thank you! Sorry to hear of your pal's passing
Happy FAWM from a Fredericksburg FAWMer! :-) Totally looking forward to hearing your tunes, your influences are stuff I really love!
Hey, my friend! Thanks for the warm greeting!
Wishing you another happy creative FabFeb!
It's the yummy stuff I'm after,I'm sure you've got plenty to dish up! :)
Hugs.
That's fantastic! Wish you a great and creative FAWM!
I am prepping as if work will behave. Best wishes for you this February.
hahaha, hey its all good - while i wish I had a synth of some sort or a pic of a schmuck sitting at a PC banging on a midi controller, I'm not mad at the...violin...cello...err...whatever this stringed instrument is that i got!
Sorry to read about your loss as well; here's to finding inspiration even in sucky things.
You too! Good luck :)
Glad to have you back in the space, my dude. For some reason (don't ask me why, I'm gettin' kinda up in age so my mind be playing Jedi routines with me) I thought you had gone into retirement. Obviously that's not the case. My condolences to you regarding DJ Scott Powell. I'll be on the lookout for your jams and don't be surprised when an 8 bar idea comes knockin' at your door. Let 'im in.
Always ready :) Looking forward to what you come up with this year, Loop!
Sorry to hear about your friend, but glad to hear you've found some inspiration. Time for us all to burn brightly or die!
See You In The Shadows…

We’re always at Learnyertoys ain’t we?
Beautiful album title for a soulbody…
Oh, and that in mind, ya might like my High Fidelity post in the forum…?
Hope to see you around this year!
Am in for some more sound from you.
Hi, enjoy being.
Are you in? -ru
