Thanks all for the support! Go over to the account that I'll be transitioning to @beacon, and Watchlist me there for FAWMs moving forward!
Pronouns: he/him
Ken it was great to see you last nite. I hope every thing goes well for you and your father. Best wishes.
A manditar is basically an octave guitar that looks like a mandolin. i.e. 6 strings, tuned an octave higher than a guitar. Fun little instrument, I used it a few times this year for one takes. I have a song video playing it on my IG from the beginning of this year.
I meant to get my actual mandolin out this year too, but alas so many fun ideas and my 28 days included a few hurdles this year.
Thank-you for your comments on my song 42!
Hi, Ken! A short while ago you sent me the final file for Step Forth, and I can't for the life of me find it. How had you sent it to me? Was it via e-mail? I'm compiling the next album and it is conspicuous by its absence.
Just saying thank you for your nice comments, Ken, and to commend you for all the comments you made this FAWM to so many musicians and lyric writers. You also seemed to be the agent provocateur of several challenges and you ended up with 20 songs, so I'm expressing my admiration for the tremendous contribution you made this year. Cheers!
Congratulations on your win, Ken. Thank you too, for your comments and friendship this year.
Now I have some catching up to do.
Congratulations to you too! For some magical reason, the FAWM website is still letting me edit the songs, so I re-uploaded the 'Can You?' with vocal harmonies. Back at you for making great music this year (and top commentator)! Looking forward to working on more things together. Have a great rest, and see you at the virtual gathering
Thank you for your comments about my song "Slightly Spooky" and for checking it out. There wasn't really any melody intended, just a construct of chords.
Oops, read your post too quickly. This is one of those times where I miss the multi -way Collab functionality of 5090.
Thanks, Ken. This was the one I was really looking forward to. Please feel free to post the song to the site.
Thank you for the love this year Ken! Congrats on finishing! May the FAWM be with you ALWAYS
Thank you, Ken! And thank goodness
for last minute skirmishes!
Yea!!!!! It was getting lonely! Good to have some company!
I added some to it
Thanks for your comment and yes I think I do want to put another verse there. Let me think and I'll change it.
Thanks for you comment on "manger de la poudreuse". You are quite right actually, it is an electric guitar, with an amplifier simulator. I used the demo version of guitar rig 6, and if my memory serves, the "creamy snowflakes" setup. The name was just so perfect for the purpose ;D
Saving you the best seat!
You’ve been busy , so many comments . I think this FAWM has been very good. I did a lot of experimenting with my limited tech devices, and have been pleased with my progress. I have met some new friends, and I am still alive to tell about it. Will be listening in March.
I like to surprise Ken :)
You can post it Ken if you are happy with it.
Thanks, Ken, and congrats you too on an amazing FAWM! Thanks for all the comments on my songs, specially the ones where you like the vocals, those are always special!
Hey Ken! Thanks for the comment on Flick It!
I'm a big fan of funk. Wish I had a voice to match.
Yup; I knew it wasn't technically a shanty, but I wanted people to be able to find it.
Soooooooooooo glad you like it. <3
Thank you so much Ken for recommending the Queen of Swords. It was so fun to do! John is a very talented musician and did a great mix.
Thank you! The harmony challenge was so much fun. I'd be happy to collab again in the future!
Love what you did with the instrumental I sent ya! Thanks for jammin with me!
Anyone can do a straight-up sexy tune with those lyrics, so I thought it was great that you turned it into more of a love song!
Thank you. Ken. :-)
I'll be around all during March and returning the listening favours.
Yep...I'm really happy with how the duets have worked out this year! They started with a duet on my last album, and last year, I brought the idea over to FAWM to be part of my schtick here, so I'm glad I've been able to keep the momentum up. Thanks for adding to it!
Ken, Thank you for your compliments on In Love All Alone. It was an effortless (for me!) collab with Jibbity and Gwyn. They always do such a professional job and just delight me with how they make a lyric into a real song!
Hi Ken!! Just popping in to say thank you sm for all your kind and motivating comments on my collaborations! I might have taken a bit too much on my plate and still racing to get to 14 lol. But I'm set on finishing with our collab by Sunday night / Monday morning!
if you have any more kumso parties, count me in! All the fun for the last few days of FAWM, talk soon~
Thanks for your comment on Liz’s An Orchid Waits! It made my morning :) hope your last few days are lovely, Ken!!
Thank you for listening! I was just happy to get one collaboration in, then I see your remarkable list! Bravo to you, I’m really enjoying your songs.
You put St. John's in the time slots for the March 5 th kumso party ,excellent!! As my mother would say...and it's an old Newfoundland sayin'
" God bless your cotton socks"...not too sure what or how it came about but is a good thing to be told!! ThxKen
Thank for the comments on “Just so”. I am so glad you could hear what it can be if I clean it up. It was an experiment as all my acapella adventures are. Not that the form snd chords are clear I can get some cleaner lead vocals takes.
Great work pulling that all together Ken!!!
I have replied! Go for it!
My harmony has just been emailed. Look forward to hearing the whole thing!
I bet you'd be amazing at #tetragloth! Harmonizing with yourself in multiple languages sounds just like your thing!
Oh just remembered he added a sitar pedal lol
Thanks for your comment! Pretty sure you're hearing the tin can ukulele, but Tomo was doing some wild FX on it!
I did, in fact, press the buttons! I'm learning little by little.
I’m onto it tomorrow morning!
Semlor rule! Thanks for the comment!
Ken, thanks for the comments on a couple of my recent songs, but I really appreciate your words on In Front Of Me. It's one of the most personal, intimate, and important songs I've written in the last year.
I'm happy you liked my spoken-word! I actually sampled the beep from the smoke detector and was playing it on the keyboard as I spoke the lyrics! :)
We thought we would let Ash take the lead vocal (Tu-kay) on this one. I (Rebecca) really appreciate the lovely comments about my vocals though! We do try and share them out equally but always go with what we think will suit the song best :)
Ken I knew you would understand. It's hard to visualize unless you have seen it first hand. Thx for the kind words
Just replied to the Harmony Singers group email with my track. Let me know if you got it, and if not I'll resend. Thanks again for putting this together!
Got it! Will work on my part tonight. Thanks!
Feeling very overwhelmed by a number of things and had thought I was signing up to be a harmony. I will try to get something today.
I got it this time!
What email address did you use? I haven’t received anything. Try efrenchamATgmail.com
Ken - I had emailed you some lyrics for the harmony challenge - let me know if you need something different
Thank you so much for recommending "Pool Song" to the recommendation thread, I so appreciate the positive publicity! Your material is amazing, you have so many heartfelt and sweet songs. It's so cool that you wrote a song in Swedish, I have been trying to explore languages from that region of the world this past year as well, ever since my choir performed a Finnish epic poem. Keep up the awesome work!
Go for it, if you'd like! I bet you can do it so well!
I'll check it out. Thanks!
Okay! Will send something later tonight!
My sad banjo was minor keys, ‘Em, Am. Seemed to make it a bit sad. Working through my songs, one more song tonight, planning to do the Skirmish.
I'll do it! Let me know what you need!
Very interested in the harmony jam! Let me know what you need!
Thanks Ken. I will try one sometime.
Thanks for letting me know Ken… there is also this one that I thought of you…

Thanks Ken. You've been very kind and informative.
I'm not sure I understand the "skirmishes" thing. Is there actually a page for this?
Here’s another possibility if you don’t want the one I emailed to you.

Hi Ken, Let That Be Enough - the other musician is fine with other versions if you would still like to put music to it.
I sent you an email.
Thank you for your thoughtful comments on my songs! It’s nice to have an appreciative listener.
Hi! Thanks for listening and commenting on my song Lipstick and Face Mask Love :)
Thanks Ken. Y'know, this IS sort of a surreal experience for me, with the forced contrivance of doing 14 (or more) songs in 28 days. I'm enjoying it for sure, but with the bit of stress added to my daily life.
I've noticed that occasionally I've come up with ideas for songs which require more thought than a one- or two-day process will allow.
I am excited and will write something after work tonight!
Glad you liked my 'The Path" and thanks for recommending it.
PS my guru didn't have an Indian name like Sri Whatever... He was plain old Ken Ratcliffe
Thank you for commenting on 'Ride from the Shadows'. (-: Yes, it's calling for female vocals. I'm just waiting to hear back from someone to whom I sent an email last night.
I will! Love to!
Thanks for leaving a comment on my new song today Ken, much appreciated.
I would LOVE for you to do it, just want to be respectful of the person who first asked to do it!
Thanks Ken :)
Hi Ken, it it is okay with @daveyboy103 it would be okay with me.. but since he asked first I want to make sure it would be okay with him.
Hey Ken, I am more than surprised as well. The FAWMers that told me GarageBand was idiotproof did exaggerate, but I am getting it.
Ken, thanks for your nice comments on my songs.
Very much appreciate you listening.
I'm enjoying your work too!
Bob McKillop
Thanks soooooooooo much for the shout out on the recommendation thread, Ken - really flattered! :-)
Still struggling with the drum tracks....
Brilliant, I look forward to hearing it Ken
Glad you liked the song Ken and hope you're doing good.
Thanks for your kind comments on "Winter Early Morning" and "Be There for Me"!
Thanks for your comments on the Salem Stomp song. It's got a good groove. And perhaps it doesn't need much more than that.
Thank you so much for taking time to listen, comment on, and recommend my song Whisper! So grateful and encouraged to hear it moved you.
Sounds like a plan and i might add some instruments if the muse takes me
Hi Ken, yes, I was at Dusty Strings for 33 years. Oddly, I just got my first dulcimer as I was leaving.
Hi Ken, thanks for that! It will take some catching up, I know I can't keep up here... 50/90 sounds fun although I doubt I can keep up this rate for very long (I know I probably shouldn't if I'm going to do the stuff I'm actually paid for...). I might sign up anyway and see what happens.
depends how busy you are but maybe we need an encore. You know me i can conjure some lyrics
Thank you for responding to Head Over Heart Broke.
@bobjestes created a beautiful collaboration based on those lyrics at https://fawm.org/songs/131388/
Thanks for visiting my cowbell song and for hosting the gathering today. I see the cowbell has been forgotten in your percussion list. Hopefully I’ve inspired you to consider the addition. Cowcore is fun!
Nice to see you again..great party!
I don't have the best memory, so I looked it up to jog my memory. You did Pardon My Love in a sort of old English troubador style. I'm not sure FAWM had ever heard anything like it!
Thanks for the shout-out on Somewhere East of Nashville, Ken. Might end up with three versions of it!
On to the final row of the periodic table, of course! Separate songs up to about 96 then a couple 10x10s to finish the show, I think.
So sorry! I’m at my mother in law’s and totally lost track of time
Thanks Ken. Gentle Rhythm it is!
And, of course, I am leading the way on the kazoo. Perhaps you could call me the Jake Shimakoburo of the kazoo. ;-)
