I’m looking forward to FAWM! I’m not sure how much I can participate as work obligations are busier than usual, but I will listen as much as I can, comment when I am able, and post some lyrics and songs when time allows, and look forward to connections and collaborations with you!
BIO: After many years of loving deeply, learning broadly, laughing freely, and living fully with a wild and crazy muse as my guide, I began writing songs and started to play music as inspired by a fellow FAWMer. We made an album together. That was in 2013. I have since had the remarkable opportunity to collaborate writing music with many awesome FAWMers far and near who inspire and delight me with their talents and passion.
I am grateful to you, my fellow FAWMers, for your inspiration, encouragement, and generosity! You never cease to impress and amaze me. I am sure this FAWM will be no exception! Enjoy!
Always open to collaborations, challenges, and co-writing! Happy to write lyrics for you or have you put music to mine.
ALL LYRICS are OPEN for COLLABORATION unless I note otherwise. Just let me know! I am open to any musician’s minor tweaks and musical ideas! Thanks so much for looking!
Glad you liked my sideswipe at the Seven Deadly Sins.
Will return the favour when I get back from the dentist - a filling fell out at the weekend.
Liz, "Descent"...not sure whether this is Queen's vs US English dialect difference, but "beyond our reproach" here would be a positive accolade. "Their behavior was beyond reproach" ie so good, there's nothing more to be said. Which of course is not the intent of the lyric. So..."regardless of reproach? uncaring of reproach? careless of our reproach? reckless of our reproach? no mind for our reproach?" etc.
Hi Liz..Songs for Ukraine wanting music, point me.
if there was just one more GIMME15 would you play again? asking for a friend.
Thanks Liz!! I look forward to our multi collab becoming a full song too :)
Hey Kahlo! Thanks for your insights on Silencing the Candle! I so appreciate your takes on music and words. As far as the alt tuning, I was playing mostly bar chords. I'm not sure I know what you meant by keeping the same chord shapes? Do you mean using the same finger placement for chords that you would use in standard?
Thank so much for taking time to listen and leave such nice comments on "Goodbye!" I really had a good time making it with John.
Hey, Liz - thank you so much for all your listening and responding and writing and skirmishing and hosting. I know I’m just one of the many people you’ve made feel welcome this FAWM. What a wonderful community.
Oh, and here I see another nice comment on A Lover and A Liar. Thank you! That music really rolls along, and @Marieke's vocal is just perfect for it. I was so pleased when she picked it up. Thanks for taking the time to listen and respond.
@kahlo --131 listings! How in the world did you even have time to explore and comment on My American Hero! Thank you! Im glad you liked it. I thought @nancycunning did a great job with it.
Liz, Our collab on "If You Go to Ireland" is scheduled to be released on Spotify, i-tunes, etc. on April 8th. Please send me your PRO IPI# so that you will be eligible for royalties. Thanks again for authorizing this. The message I sent you on the i-cloud address you gave me has once again been rejected
Liz, thank you so much for your kind words on "Walking down the line"!
Thanks for trusting me with An Orchid Waits. It was a lovely experience songwriting with you. I also came here to thank you for the laugh on my collab with @cts! I want to dance all night long in a polyester suit!! 70s/80s/90s tunes!! :) Your kind words mean a lot!
e-mail is (or messaging) the best way to communicate My e-mail is: [email protected]. I Will try to contact you again at the e-mail address you sent me. Thanks
Liz, Thanks for friending me! Based on your response(1 day@kahlo2013 left a note on your soundboard Oh sure that would be fine! Let me check my emails), I am streaming our collab "If You Go to Ireland) with you listed as 100% author. I'll send you the release date link. Thanks
The e-mails I have sent to the address you sent me have been rejected. Hoping you will permit me to stream our collab "If You Go to Ireland" with you given full credit the lyricist. Let me know one way or the other. Thanks
Thanks for your wonderful comments on Sticky Fingers. I truly appreciate it!
Thank you for commenting on Under! I am so pleased @nadine brought me some excellent heavy tunes to play with this FAWM - glad you liked it!
Hi Liz,,
I just updated the Chords in the Bridge of "I Still Want You"
I also want to do a Youtube Video of that one this week. Is that OK with you?
Thanks a lot for stopping by and commenting! I'm happy you enjoyed the songs I've uploaded. None of these are final versions, we're just about 25-50% of the way, so they will be rerecord and produced properly in the next months. Collaborating with people is big fun!
Wait what - You were involved on 131 songs?! That's more than @gordon. Congrats that you topped his record!
Hey, thanks for the great comments... oh,,, gotcha- kewl thought seeing it in a video installation/ have heard similar on another experimental I did... might have to do that...'egocentric' for good reason I feel... :)
Liz, thank you for commenting on my writing.
Means a lot coming from you!
This FAWM I did not have the energy to create the actual music track, so all of my songrs had to do with writing and I so enjoyed expressing topics and ideas I had stored in my cellphone ideas file.
Hopefully next year I can cover one of your songs
Glad you liked my Furry Felines song. I do like being inspired by visual prompts like paintings. Two of my favourite songs from last year's FAWM were the two I wrote in response to the Rijk's Museum Challenge, where you had to visit the Rijk's Museum's website and choose a painting or two to be inspired by.
I have a playlist of songs of mine inspired by poetry or paintings on my youtube channel:

Hi Liz,
just a note to say the music is finally up for my silly LOVE song.
https://fawm.org/songs/136376/
Oh my goodness I don’t know where to start!! So many songs!!
131? !! Ye Gods Liz!!!
Hey Liz,
It's always a joy to read your lyrics and get to work with you. Thank you for all of your feedback and encouragement. I would love to do another live collaboration in 50/90!
Hi Liz. It was a pleasure to set your lyrics to music. I always look out each FAWM, as I know you will have something inspiring for me to work with and you never disappoint. Maybe I will dip my toe into 50/90 this year, but we will have to see :)
Kindest regards, Andy
131?!!?? Wow.
Thanks for the note. I haven't been hunting down lyrics to musicify as much of late but you're always one I can count on. Thank you for what you do. I hope you had a great Fawm (it looks like you were incredibly productive.)
Thank you for your beautiful note. Please feel free to stay in touch between now and 50/90….I value your words and beautiful song lyrics.
Hi Liz
Just echoing your note to me. I value your comments and collaborations too.
I swore I would give 50/90 a go last year but life got in the way and I didn't know how much I could test the patience of my darling Carmen. She already calls herself a FAWM widow every February B-)
Look forward to our digital paths crossing again.
And I still have a lot of your songs to explore this month. X X
Ahhh thanks liz and i'm so so happy i got to do a song with you. A true highlight of FAWM for me and i hope there'll be many more to come in the future. woohoo
Hi Liz! You too! You had the most amazing FAWM. What you are able to produce in the month of February is phenomenal. I have sent Fishing the Basin to Donald. Thank you for everything you do for this community
Liz liz liz everywhere I click liz liz liz...
Thank you, my friend!
I *KNOW* I'll be hearing more of your collabs LOL! :)
I’m glad I could grab one of your lyric this FAWM. You were amazingly prolific last month! I’d love to crash the Madison FOP again! You are a fun group!
Thank you in return, Liz, for entertaining my sense of creativity and allowing me to make these songs from your words every year. It's incredibly fulfilling.
Liz, thank you for the chance to make some wonderful music with you! Olympic History is one of my favorites from this year : ) And congratulations on such a prolific FAWM! Not sure how you do it, with work, family, laundry, and all the other demands of life, but somehow you do, and do it so well. I’ve really only been able to listen to a few of your offerings so far, but now that the big push is over I’m really looking forward to reading and hearing all that you brought forth from your heart this year! It would be great to collaborate in person, or even just go have coffee sometime (since we do live in the same city!)
Hot damn! You are Queen of the Queens! Lol! Who posts 131 songs in 28 days?!?! You amaze and inspire my friend. So in awe. Big love to you for all the kindness and support over the years. You are a gem indeed.
No problem! Its always a joy! Your lyrics to to write themselves into music.
Dear Liz,
Thanks for the note. I'm glad we got to do a little collabing this FAWM. Look forward to catching up with each other's work this post-FAWM and yes, it will be great when we can do live collabs again!
And you Liz, I will see you there. I was a bit time constrained this FAWM but we still produced some fine work.
Hi Liz. I have done a recording for Fishing the Basin
Posted two demos for your lyrics today. Lets do more for 50/90!
"I’m looking forward to FAWM! I’m not sure how much I can participate..." a quote from your beautiful self which makes me laugh when I see that it is now 128 posts later...LOL!!
Just a quick thanks for your support in my first FAWM. I appreciate all your lovely comments and help you gave me. You are a FAWM superhero. Do I see #127!! WOW :)
Thanks for your descriptive comment, Lizzy. I wouldn't have thought about that, but.... once I'm driving through such a city... :) Heck, I may go find myself such a city and see/feel for myself if it fits the song.
I was about to pat myself on the back for getting to everything I wanted to do this month (other than falling behind on my listening/reading) and realized I never posted the Cujo tune LOL. I did it... just didn't post it hahah. I'll find it, and finish whatever else it was I must of wanted to add before I posted and then just forgot it.
Liz - Thank you for listening so closely and responding to so many of my songs, and for hosting the skirmishes. I've felt so welcomed into the wonderful world of FAWM. I've enjoyed reading your lyrics and hearing your music. Look forward to reading and hearing much more.
For sure, the FAWMer community is vast!!! I too get very little sleep during FAWM and have a partner who allows me to spend the bulk of my non-working hours here and I'm barely at 100. I plan to do a lot of listening in the coming weeks though to make up for being pretty creation focused for the past 4.
Only a 14 more and I'll join you on the 8th floor! I'm bound and determined to make it by the end of the night!
800 comments!!! How in the world?! You are a song writing and comment giving machine.
Hi! I think you accidentally commented on my song “Imposter Syndrome” instead of another song you intended to comment on. :)
If/when you and Karen get up this way again, we'd love to connect. Brenna just asked me a few days ago if you and I are ever going to meet in person. I told her I sure hope so!
OMG...a wiener festival. I'm all over that!!!! Yeah, let's blast this tune by the food trucks! I'll get rid of the NSFW stuff. Glad you had a chuckle. I'm finally just relaxing and sound surfing for myself. Big Breath!!
Ok...someone else wrote about hot ham and rolls from Milwaukee, and now you have the egg noodles and sausage - I need to visit WI someday! lol
Love songs about regional/local food specialties!
In Chicago - we had so doggone many, but my favorite is the Chicago Dog and Maxwell Street polish sausages!
That would be great Liz. No rush at all. Even after FAWM is good. GET some rest :)
Hey Liz. Don Gaynor is looking for some sea shanties for a collab with Muriel Anderson, do you have any lyrics I could use please?
Congratulations on your reaching the 7th floor! I actually would love to have a chat sometime. Consider coming to the Virtual FAWMOver reception I'm hosting: https://fawm.org/forums/topic/12805/
liz, thank you so much for your kind words on "Good and bad girls"...
Hi LIz,
Thanks for your concerns. If we were actually in Paris (City) we would probably be strolling Boulevards and paying through the nose for coffees and barely drinkable red wines. But we are in a small village 45 mins from Paris, which has charm, but no night life whatever. The main point of the trip is to spend time with our daughter who's an au pair here. She sees us during the day, but like a vampire in reverse slips off into the evening as the sun sets (to go and have fun with friends). We then settle in our "gite" (rural hired apartment in a cottage ). Carmen loves just relaxing in the evening with a book after a hard days sightseeing. That's why I have had time, if not the technical knowhow to join in on a couple of skirmishes.
Liz, the music is up for Word Play. Thanks for the opportunity.
Busy busy! Harmony song ? Is it in an email? Can you jog my memory?
Liz, I hope you liked the harmony song. I'm going to work on the other set of your lyrics this weekend.
Thanks for the comment on 'Running Out of Time'!
Liz, put me down as a collab on Word Play!
Well i done something!! I'd like to do more work on it post FAWM but for the moment its ready . Do you want me to send it to you to listen to first before i post???
The harmony song is up at https://fawm.org/songs/135625/. I can't put more than one collaborator on it, but your in the title and thanked in the notes!
:) wait till you hear our lyrics only corpse bit! :)
You commented on @sherrycanary's defiant "Will of the Heart" https://fawm.org/songs/132639/ earlier (thank you). We now have Sherry's voice on it and a slightly better piano. Whilst there are some production issues which I can't fix at this stage, it's definitely an improvement over me singing it (!), if you'd like to listen again, or download the fresher version.
Thanks a lot for your comments, they are well appreciated! I'm glad you enjoyed my experiments in jazz music. First time I do some weird stuff with 7ths chords and swing beat. No idea what I did there but it seems to work lol (my home base is alternative rock, pop and trance). Geez, are you trying to crash this site by reaching a 100 songs?! Just kidding!
YOU SAID: "I love the mournful sound of the double Reed backing instrumental. Ah you would think it was, wouldn't you. I think it sounds a little like Northumbrian Pipes... but I'll let you in on a secret it's actually an instrument I never thought I'd have a use for: a Japanese fiddle!
Hooray! Looking forward to working with you. Thematically and lyrically, I'm open to whatever. Weird and quirky is always a little more fun, with subtext/metaphors, all that, but I'm not tied down to anything in particular. Feel free to reach out via the email link on my profile as well for the rest. Rock on!
That's great! Thanks for the quick turn around! They;re all moving to completion nice and fast. I'm glad.
If we had just a few more people and a stitcher, I just can't do it for time, we could go epsilon!
Hi Liz. Just a quick note to let you know I'm working away on My Late Winter Heart. It is going well.. I love this lyric!
Hello! Apologies on the delay. You're up for the next installment of Lyrics-Only Morph. I can't wait to see what you create!
https://fawm.org/songs/134777/
Thank you for the listen and kind comments on my collab with Cindy! Wow, just looking down the above list, so many killer, intriguing titles. What prolific expression!
Chip put some music to my Fiona https://fawm.org/songs/133252/
I’m getting sick of this damn autocorrect I meant geeze!
Geese I guess you have won at fawm enough to last multiple years!
It's been a loooooong time since I've played, but should we find ourselves in the vicinity of a Pac-Man game, you're on! :-)
Thanks for the note and for listening to some songs. If @ltunes already has a vision and a few ideas shaped up, I'll let that play out but make myself available for any other stuff. And I do plan on doing 50/90 this year so perhaps we'll get a chance to connect then as well. Keep being awesome!
Thanks so much for letting me collaborate on Late Winter. I have a bunch of ideas and recorded a short track already but probably won't get to work for real until tomorrow. This is my first collaboration, so I am very excited. Getting a gentle/reflective vibe on this one.
Hi Liz! Thank you for those AMAZING comments today. I appreciate it more than I can adequately express. I think it may be too late for FAWM, but can we pencil in a collab during 50/90? :)
Just sent you an email with some small lyric edits for the Harmony Singers Challenge song. I'm working on the melody, and I just needed to make some of the lines have fewer syllables to make it fit. Check the email and let me know!
Thanks Liz, will check them out
Thanks for your nice comment on my How Many Lives Is It Going To take lyrics.
Thank you for all the lovely comments! I really appreciate your feedback :) frankly I’m in awe of how productive you’ve been!
That is an impressive number of songs! Well done!
I'm so glad you like it! I really like digging into lyrics other people have written and musically interpreting them. I should be brave and try more often.
I hope it's okay I just made a new post for Echos of What Ifs, I'll edit it if it isn't
Thanks! Now to get to work on music for your lyrics......
Thanks for listening and commenting.
Thank you so much for the kind comments
Your trust would not be misplaced.
Just add me now for July.... standing date!
Sorry, I promise to stop if you stop bringing stuff worth of encouragement and compliment :)
Thank *YOU*, Liz.... 10x10corpse(s).... huh.... maybe... b4 February's over... maybe...
Ireland is musicified now https://fawm.org/songs/133563/
The lyrics are perfect!!!!!!! You are awesome. I'm going to start working on them now so I can pass them along to the next person.
Cool. Basically looking for something that has something in a tradition style that has a story that moves along, usually in a very tangible sense, with shorter lines that allows for a singable chorus. You can check this out for an example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qP-7GNoDJ5c
