Hey dude, your post on zongs and brief comments was spot on! You carefully and logically laid out your argument. And you even acknowledged in advance the imperfections of your idea. And yet, you still get arguments against it! Sometimes this cult.. er...community drives me crazy! We are now in the "argue with everything" phase of the FAWM challenge!
I used to use soundcloud and got sick of getting noticationd and freezing my tracks! I had to keep going back and saying it was all my music and they then unfroze it! in the end i gave up Soundcloud.
Nice name! Must go listen to him!
Do i need to do anything about that? Never had one like that before
Thanks heaps for mentioning Chemical Waste in the Fawmcast - that was a really nice thing to do. Appreciated.
Ok cool one of my collaborators emailed me and said you didn’t get it so I was scrambling lol thanks look forward to the show!
Hey! I emailed you the file for chemistry did that not work?
Ref the Cryin' Blues piano--I'd like to take credit for the sound (as distinct from teh playin which is mine of course) but I can't: it's one of the Privia pianos but something wasn't set right on the mixer. Incidentally, there's no MIDI recording of the piano, another mistake. But it was approaching midnight and I needed just to get a recording in case I forgot overnight. The heart-wrenching vocal delivery comes because I'm trying to keep track of the words and making up the melody on the run and playing the piano! As well as watching levels.
There's just something about the blues progressions (not just 12 bar, but also the 16 bar and other variations. They just seem to be inbuilt. I think the fusion of european and west african music was just Meant To BE.
Do you have your artwork on Instagram or Devianart? I'm so curious!
hey! first off, i enjoyed the show the other day! second, sorry i forgot to update the soundcloud permissions. you can download it there or i emailed a copy to you on the contact info under your email link.
oh, that's great work then - you genuinely created the feel of a soundtrack.
peter thomas has some great thriller / spy / sci-fi soundtracks. you might like him.
I am sorry for the trouble, but I just confirmed with my mister and we'll be away for the whole weekend. no need to change your schedule because of me.
thanks for trying to fit me in, Juha dear, this Feb is being a little bit overwhelming to me.
I will, however, submit a song, that's for sure. :D
hi Juha!
so, the 28th is the only day I can't, I have a "hot date" with the Portuguese Immigration Authority in another region of the country so I will not be able to arrive home in time for the show on that day.
but no prob, next year I'll ask you again, hehehe.
(the Captain Jack mentioned in your influences is the one from Dr. Who?)
hyvää yötä!
Yeah well, I did go sailing...hm 28 and I've only listened to one? Must rectify later.
Good to see we're BOTH keeping going. Though I'm not up to you yet.
Thanks for the spin and shootout on the podcast! You are too kind!
Thanks for the shout-out on FAWMTalk, good sir!
Kiitos kommentista. Nauroin itsekin kontrastille ja yleensä jos nauran tai lapsellisesti hihitän jollekin idealleni niin sillä mennään.
Dang, when I had a chorus pedal it never sounded that eerie. Well done!
Good luck with FAWM 2022!
Happy 2022 FAWMing!

DUDE. Bard Cards Still Rock!
Hey Juha! Hope you have a wonderful FAWM! I have my Bard Cards all shuffled and ready to go!
Twelve years!!
Can you believe it?!?
:)
Hi Juha, have a great time.
Have a great FAWM!!
Hello, and I hope that you find great movie inspiration this FAWM!
Same deal as before? I keep going if you keep going and vice versa?
Ha! We loved Day of the Tentacle! My daughters absolutely loved it as well! And you betcha, though Ken Williams wrote a book recently (which I definitely pre-purchased before it came out) called "Not All Fairy Tales Have Happy Endings: The Rise and Fall of Sierra On-Line." Well-written book and it was fascinating to read to get "his" perspective on what went down. I wanted some answers. Definitely a great read!!! Wishing you the best on your game! Would love to see it when you're ready! (And I'm mixed on the deal... lots of feelings... Guess it's a wait and see what happens.)

(Sorry, didn't mean to write a book... those days... I miss them so much.)
They were amazing times... and when we moved to NYC it kinda sucked as the only programming they did was database programming, not gaming. That was mostly on the West Coast at the time. Microsoft recently acquired Activision for $68.7 billion which means now Microsoft will own all the stand-alone Sierra games.
Part 2: I was really sick with my 2nd pregnancy and had a rough delivery/baby was lethargic, etc. so I stopped working. My now ex-husband also worked for Sierra and he continued until 1999. They offered us to move to Seattle, flew us up there, took us on a cruise at Puget Sound, etc., etc., but we declined. When the Oakhurst, CA office closed, we moved to NYC.
Hey, I can't remember. I started out at their daughter company, The Sierra Network (TSN), later called The ImagiNation Network (INN). I started out in CS/TS; every employee was a QA tester during crunch time; after two months I was in the Finance Dept, but was a liaison between them and the MIS team; my job was moved to Burlingame and they offered me to go, but I declined; went to the parent company, Sierra On-Line (SOL) where I started out in QA, testing games like Gabriel Knight, etc. I then moved to the Art Department where I was credited for The Realm (RPG game), so... a little bit of everything! LOL BEST company to work for!!! It was AMAZING!!!
Happy FAWM 2022, Juha! Always enjoy listening to your tunes. They remind me a bit of my days from working at Sierra. Hope you are well and looking forward to hearing more from you! And hoping to put those Bard Cards to use now that I have them!!! :)
My Bard Card technique is a dash of made-up ritual and personal numerology. I deal out nine cards in a 3x3 grid, sit with my guitar & let my eyes wander over them, trying out the various concepts, including musical ideas. I'm looking for a strong, primary idea to be at the center of the song; other ideas might be verse, bridge, rhythm, etc. Ideally I start with a kernel of an idea (in this first song from Eckhart Tolle). If nothing clicks in this system, I deal a tenth card that MUST be prominent in the song, skirmish-style. I plan to use this method during FAWM this year
Hey Juha, I finally worked out my technique for using your Bard Cards and got a good song out of them! Happy FAWMing.
Ahhhh cool, you're here!
Hi, there! I'm *so* jealous you got a 4-track for your avatar! :)
Have an amazing FAWM!
