Influences: The running list of artists I've been compared to here over the years (many of whom I've hardly or never listened to): David Bowie, Jonathan Richmond, Robyn Hitchcock, "old British psychedelic rock," Ween, Beck, King Crimson, Tom Petty, Duran Duran, Talking Heads, "late 70's early 80's new wave," the Beatles (wow thanks), Talk Talk, Bob Dylan (umm, whoa?), !!!, Massive Attack, Total Giovanni, and finally someone recognized my Thin Lizzy obsession.

This year I am thinking once again of doing something completely idiotic and making FAWM even harder for myself, because writing a song damn near every day for a month isn't hard enough. You know, kind of like the rock opera I wrote here a couple years ago, challenging myself to do another challenge on top of a challenge. This year the vague idea is a sort of creative writing project that goes along with the songs. That's all I'm gonna say, because I might or might not do it.
Last year I moved to Kingston, NY, from Brooklyn. It's mighty nice, come visit me.

Great! Write me email with idea for green light or if you need prompt. And a promised delivery time be now and Sunday. Did.
another GIMME15, maybe?
I have to say that I have a love/hate relationship with doing the first track. I like to see what happens, but it also feels so passive, even though I’m basically setting up structure, key, length, and all. I think I like 2 the best, as that can be a huge style and mood determinant. I don’t know, they all have their merit I guess. 4 is tricky because of the mix and everyone’s feelings. It’s all fun though.
I sent my 15 seconds on to your email. Let me know if you run into any trouble.
Hi, I’m before you in the 15 second corpse. I sent you an email to tell you my email is [email protected]
I'm pretty sure I got everyone back up right!
In the mean time, please consider>>>> https://fawm.org/forums/topic/12954/
Hey can you take the collab with fourtracktape off? That song is already in that page so it is confusing… Awesome song!!
Might be fun to collab next year - one write the back story and the other, the song. Or any combination between...
Guitar and vocal on a 4-track: I used to put on the guitar, turn up the amp, and get the vocal mic positioned so it picked up the guitar on the break. On the song you heard this week Patti said the guitar was shaking the house, so I had to change plans. Originally I wanted guitar-on-the-edge-of-feedback under the vocal throughout. Sometimes I can get feedback at low volumes with enough gain, but not that day.
For the track in question, I used a punch-in pedal and kept erasing part of the vocal and had to redo both a couple times. Any simple momentary-contact switch with a 1/4 plug will work, though I picked up an official Tascam brand Punch-In Pedal.
Thanks for the compliment!
Thanks for your kind comment on my Rosetta Stone song
Thanks for the comment. I only watched Cherry 2000 in 2x looking for bits to pull, I somehow don't think I had ever seen it despite it being a late-night staple on USA while growing up. From what I could tell, it was a little better than mediocre but for a B-movie, that's sort of the worst place to fall.
Stop it, you fiend, you're making me blush! :)
Thanks, my friend.
Done :-)
Hey I was just thinking after listening to Rosetta Stone, I’d love to use some bass in a track if you’d be up for a collaboration?? I was thinking just some bass line on the double bass that I could ‘sample’ and build a kind of hip hop track around? No worries if not, Just an idea, And just thought I’d reach out as it’s such a lovely and usual sound on FAWM :-)
Hey - the bass line was the teddy bear sample. The keyboard part was both hands, and maybe sounds like two different instruments because of the sampling! Thanks for listening :)
hey there! So you're back at home and in business? That was crazy!
Welcome back! For some reason when fawm time approaches my mind always wonders what shit you'll get up to. So far so good. Art is fun and funny and weird and great.
Dagnabit!!!! You are going to get me hooked again :)
I really enjoyed the rock opera
Hey Ezra! Good luck with your FAWM this year!
National Audio has plenty—they are also doing a “limited “ run with Tascam. You can buy them directly through National Audio. Tapes.com is out of tape but will get more in the next week
Hey there Ezra! I look forward to hearing your music again! By the way, have you kept up with the new type II tapes from National Audio? Also I’m sure you know about tapes.com.
