My name is Heidi Wolfson. I have been writing songs in the Philadelphia area for more than 40 years. I write songs for my band, CubiZm, in a wide variety styles and with a real range of rocked-outness. CubiZm is Heidi Wolfson, Art Cohen and Steve Lessick.
Our music can be found on reverbnation (www.reverbnation.com/heidigwolfson), facebook (CubiZm11), you tube (check out heidi wolfson or CubiZm. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I-1z1eu_IOs
), apple music and itunes (albums: Grays in the Rain and Invisible Now).
I recently had a documentary made about my decades of music: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=50lqiHS3cfI&t=3s and have witnessed something called Heidifest, in which 43 of my closest friends each covered one of my songs:

Thank you, for everything, Rob Lincoln. You are the truest of friends.
My goal for FAWM this year is to write 15 songs, hoping that 8 of them are keepers. I am looking to connect with PASA friends. If you are out there, let's connect!

Thank you for your thoughtful comments on my songs and your encouragement. Always appreciated. You are a gem.

Thanks for your comments on The Wind Takes Me Home- and for noticing that Eastern European sound I was attempting to get.

Heidi, thanks for commenting on Hello Moon. I was a little worried that the lyric might be interpreted as a "cry for help" but it is just what came out. It's really about the moon. Like you I find that my FAWM songs are just the beginning and I continue to work on them. Sometimes years later I discover a better line!

Thanks so much for the listen and comments on 'The Perfect Take'!

thank your for your comments on why must i call it fiction.. i gave it the minor key, deadpan leonard cohen delivery so the lyric would not be distorted by souldful artifice. i tried to put it across simply and clearly, and cohen is a good teacher of how to do that

Thank you for your thoughtful and literate comments on my songs. Even your comments are beautifully written. You are always so encouraging. Excellent set of songs so far!

  • @hoppiern  Feb 2022

Thanks so much for your comments on my song - I totally agree with you, and I always appreciate your thoughtful insight and suggestions! :-)

Thanks for listening to my songs, Heidi. I see you're going gangbusters here!
Yes, Calamity is about a student that I have given online lessons to for over a year. I think she's probably really struggling with organization and getting assignments in for college.
I appreciate your comments on the Devil's Wife. I think the 3rd person thing was just a result of me having to change words and such. I'm glad it sounds natural.

Thank you Heidi for comments on The Sun Behind the Rain. I'm warming up that upper register because I'm planning to write an opera/musical for my friends in Casper WY that run an opera company. There is mountain we hiked that was owned by author Neal Forsling. The book "Crimson Dawn" is about witches of Casper Mountain. My friends mentioned they'd love to commission someone to write an opera about it and I've decided to surprise them! I'm waiting for my copy of the book. Since I hiked the mountain I know a little of the back story.

YES Heidi that is EXACTLY what I was talking about. When you almost die, you realize how much you've wasted on BS and just let it go and appreciate the simple things in life. I picked up some of that on "can't blame it on the world." We can, but we realize what a waste that is now.

  • @the3queens Feb 2022

Thanks for your kind words, Heidi!

Yes, let's collaborate! I am open to any style of collaboration other than having to write lyrics first (happy writing lyrics to a backing, but can't write them without music). Also happy acoustic or electric (or even electronic). This isn't helpful, is it. Here are 2 ideas that you can either pick from or make an entirely different suggestion:

    - One of us does a backing track for the other to sing on
    - One of us starts with one instrument and we send it back and forth until done.

Happy to start or not, and can flip a coin to decide if you have no preference. My email address is my user name @gmail.com

Hi Heidi, Thanks for your comment. I haven't started my fawming yet. Maybe after tonight when the house concert is in the past I'll be able to focus on some writing.

  • @caitlin Feb 2022

Hi Heidi! Yes, I did come to your beautiful backyard for a PASA house concert last summer. I can't wait to make it to another one, you are such an inspiring group of songwriters.

Thanks for your comments on my lab monkey song, Heidi!
