Influences: Flights of Fancy; Gritty Realism; Awkwardness
I live in Barrie, Ontario, Canada. Since the beginning of lockdown I've performed a semi-regular livestream of original music on Youtube Facebook and others...
I love unreliable narrators, the unexpected and wonky melodies.
My friend ductapeguy challeneged me to create a cover for my album pre-FAWM.
This is it:

Listening to Apocalyptic Lullaby made me think of the artist Lullaby Baxter. Not the coincidence of the word -- but the way you play with language. I've said about LB that she's the master of "the just-right wrong word" and you do that brilliantly too.
Oh, I'm a squirrelly collaborator at best myself, but yes! I'm totally in for a FAWM '23 collab!
Well, I thought you did a great job on 'Afraid too long ' last year. Have you developed some interesting new quirks these last 12 months? Do tell OH YES, been meaning to ask if you are a fan of Connie Converse?
"This is the way." – the Mandolorian
"Such is the way." – every FAWMer, ever.
I'll work my way backwards, then, if that makes you feel better :-).
Given what I've seen of your writing so far, I feel safe it saying you are going to love P.G. Wodehouse. Since there is so much of it, I respectfully recommend starting with any collection of the Jeeves and Wooster short stories, then perhaps Psmith, Journalist and/or Summer Lightning.
Thank you, and buckle up yourself; the feeling is mutual :-).
Howdy Miss Cassandra! Thank you fer lis'nin' to my beaver song! I am happy you laughed but hope you were only kidding about dying. As a wild opossum dying is somethin' we take very seriously! My mama was recently run over by the ice cream truck. And while that is very sad, they also dropped a few frozen goodies so it was not a total loss!
Maybe you should listen to more of my songs just to be sure you didn't die from that last one? However, if one of my songs *does* kill you I can take no respo...rezpn...er...it ain't my fault!
Oh and one more thing...I went to yer website and noticed you playing keys WITH HORSES! How cool is that? Lemme know if you ever wanna climb up into our attic and play for a bunch of marsupials!
Thanx a'gin fer lis'ning!
THanks so much for your wonderful comment on Witches of Scotland. I really appreciate it :)
Thanks so much for your valuable comments, I do like Frost, but the reference was unintentional—which poem are you referring to? Thanks again for listening.
Thanks a lot for your comments and listens! These two songs really pushed limits xD I'll take a listen later!
I plan to be doing the same catching up process. I've got loads of listening to do this month!
Congrats on reaching the finishing line! Looking forward to listening to more of your songs this month!
I don't think it's weird at all. That we're running out of time to post our own music just means we have more time for listening now! Looking forward to hearing more of yours too!
Thank you Cassandra for all you kind words...your support and encouragement.. its meant the world to me..
You really have pushed me to be better.
Thank you, Cassandra, for the listens this month. You write the best comments going :)
I have every faith that you've got AT LEAST one more in the bag before the end - and I'm absolutely sure that you have the ability to dance between the ticks of the clock to find some extra crumbs of time in which to do them :)
I could defo di something at 8 tonight GMT. Which skirmish?
Morning..I have one last one I thought you might want to collaborate on?
Hello Cassandra, just wanted to say thank you for all your support during this Fawm, your lovely, thoughtful comments kept me going, don't think I would have been as productive otherwise.
And, of course, it's been an out and out pleasure and inspiration to hear all your wonderful songs this season!
I'm excited to hear more of your music. I was so glad to hear the site usually stays open for a few days after the end of the month. I really like what I've heard.
Wow. 17 songs. Yay!
Yeah for the trophy. Congratulations. The renovation was a contributing factor, I guess. Or just things getting better.
You did it! 14 songs! Way to go!!!
'You Suck Me In' has been musicated ! https://fawm.org/songs/134302/
13 songs! You're almost there!
Thanks so much for your nice comment!
Certainly not like your version but was really happy with the result...
Thanks again..
It’s up.
Thank you Cassandra love what you did with the music...
BRAVO...
Thank you Cassandra! I think the true celebrities are the extreme enthusiasts who donned radiation gear to go and poke microphones at the pianos to make that sample library! ;-)
But I'm vain and will take any adulation I can find. :-D
Hello, thanks for your comments - I've been a bit up and down with my confidence recently, so its much appreciated. Looking forward to hearing the songs you've been keeping under the bed :)
Thanks so much for your kind words!
I will email you the song xo
If I send you some lyrics will you do the music?
Thank you for the kind comments @crutherford. I was having a mad moment about unequal opportunism and the state of everything really. .
We still know people who show cattle at the Royal every year. The animals are so pampered, and the owners sleep with them in the stalls. Thanks for the listen and nice comments.
Thanks!...I have made a note on my original lyric scrawl in case I ever do anything else with the song. "Still to Steal as per FAWMer crutherford"
You're so sweet! Looking forward to hanging out with you this weekend. And look at you, already 5 songs! Great job!
The word was 'still' not 'steal'...but steal is so much better! I want to use it. Do I give a writing credit for one word?
@crutherford you’ve been busy you little bday rascal!
I love me a bit of synchronicity. It's a good city to visit. :-)
Hey Cassandra! So sorry it's taken me a while to drop by. :-)
You are welcome to visit our world anytime! Love reading your comments :)
So happy you are back :)
Loved hearing your first song, in the flesh. Just zonged today.
You know, this FAWM thing is all your doing to turn my world upside down. In a good way. Hope to see you next week on the walking path (DEPENDING ON WHETHER WE NEED TO QUARANTINE)
Heyho. Happy FAWMing.
Heyhowareya.
Happy fawming!
Heyo! I'm on here too (patrick g). I'm not sure how well I'll do, but I'm looking forward to the process! Thanks for letting Michelle know about this, it's super cool!
Hello and have a wonderful FAWM!
Happy FAWMing!
