FAWM UPDATE:

Today 2/11 I will be taking a vacation for ten days to Los Angeles. Unfortunatley I will not have access to my home studio but I will have a guitar, so while I won't be able to post songs I will still be writing. This includes finishing the song I am working on now that packing and getting ready for my trip has kept me from recording (although to give a teaser it has been inspired by all the awesome metal artists I have found on FAWM and the guitar line is supposed to be a minor key variation of the guitar line of Nic Jones' Canadee-i-o. I will be back without a week left of FAWM and will use that time to record the songs I wrote on vacation and get as close to fourteen as possible. Typically I am pretty slow paced songwriter and very deliberate with my word and musical arrangement choices, and average probably six to seven songs a year. So even getting that much done would match my yearly output. Happy fawming, will try to stay up to date and listen to peoples songs while on vacay. See you on the other side!

Crumble Boy, the songwriting moniker for Philadelphia psych folk songwriter Evan Hoskins, just released their self titled debut at the end of 2021, check it out on Apple Music, Spotify or Bandcamp: thecrumbleboy.bandcamp.com/release

To commemorate my first FAWM I have decided to embark on a concept album, centered around the Ovid's epic poem, Metamorphoses. Each song will represent one of the 15 books of the Metamorphoses. The songs will be interpretations of each story's imagery and themes and will not be strict retelling of a myth (think Mountain Goats "The Life of the World to Come"). As a note on content, those familiar with Ovid's Metamorphoses know how downright scandalous some of these tales can get. I will be focusing on the more tender and lesser known moments of the epic poem, sometimes using my artistic license to create said tenderness where there is no tenderness to be found. Each song will be accompanied by a quote from the book it represents. The songs will not be written in order. Enjoy.
