**Actual mantra for 2022: "Try new things!"**
This will be my 15th FAWM!! I'm halfway through my 3rd year of music school, no songwriting festival this time around, so my time management is (maybe?) a little more manageable than it's been in recent years. Time will tell. Apparently the 15-year anniversary gift is crystal, so maybe a crystal ball is in order...
I don't typically splurge on new gear pre-FAWM but this time I'm bringing a new Enya Nova concert uke AND my first-ever ocarina. Debating starting a band called Ukerina. Message me if you want to join.
Instrumentation:
- Guitar
- Tenor/concert ukuleles
- Bari uke
- UBASS
- Accordion
- Mandolin
- Ocarina (!!!)
- Clarinet
- Violin
- aux percussion
- harmonies up the wazoo
- MIDI everything
Thanks for the note. Please feel no pressure time wise. I’ll be hanging around for a bit…
Hi Carley…you game for some tit4tat? I’d love to have you listen to my collaborations with Serene (Feeling My Way, Angel, As You Are and I Love Every Minute). I’ve listened and commented on a bunch of yours but it would be pure pleasure to listen to more…
I woke up and saw you got 36! Amazing!
Yes thanks for being such a formidable running mate this year! Let’s do it again 2023
Throw in a collab and we have a deal! ;-)
Behave! :-D
Okay... maybe next year. ;-)

With a pinch or 2 of History of the world pt.1
Hey Carly bear psst Carly bear. Five more let’s go
I just want to say that your whole collection of works on FAWM this year is about as imaginative and original as anything I've seen anywhere. You've operated in so many different styles and handled them all deftly, from "Round Goes Around", "Train Whistle" to "San Francisco Love Letter", they're all different but they all still have your particular signature. It's quite a pleasure working through your catalogue, so thanks for the entertainment.
Here is the demo you indicated you'd like to hear. I hope you enjoy it. (-:
'The Waltz'

Hi! Thanks for checking out the lyrics to Drag Me Down! I really appreciate the time and the comment :) I posted the demo if you're still interested in hearing it. Thanks again!
Just listened to a bunch of your songs and was knocked out by the lot of 'em. So many great lyrics and grooves. Really enjoy your singing, too.
This lyric is all the amazing:
I felt like a desert of myself
And I was praying really hard for rain
"Hapless"! Yeah, that's the word! Thanks for giving Valentine a listen and for your kind comments :)
Thanks for your comments on 'I Like Pink Picks' and congrats on the orange uke! There's a white uke with rainbow cats on in a music shop next to my work and it probably sounds terrible, but I still want it haha.
Thanks so much to listening to the silliness that Jordan and just finished. It was sooooo much fun to make, but such a crazy mix! :O
Thanks for your kind comments on "We Don't Have a Clue" and "Be There for Me"!
I e-mailed it over! :)
I think I have a song cooking that sounds like something that you could work with. I have to do a bit more recording, but it is a simple acoustic guitar song.
Thanks for the listen and comment on 'We Don't Have a Clue'!
Carley, I fixed it. Thanks
Thank you. My memory is trash, but I do remember you always have really cool things to say, always very encouraging and make folks feel good about their stuff.
...I gotta listen to your music still!!!
Carley - Wow. Wow. Wow. What a spectacular job with the Crystal Ball Song. Thank you. It's such a great bouncy sad song.
Carley, thank you for listening to Friendship Hurts (If You Do It Right) and for your positive comments. This song is special to me, and I'm glad you could relate to it. I think Colleen captured what I had in mind, and that is so rewarding.
Hooray. Untagged you for now on That Crystal Ball. Look forward to your posting what you come up with. I don't need to hear it first.
Hi, Carley - I just posted the lyrics and marked you as a collaborator. (Let me know if I should unmark you until you decide you want to do it, or have done something, or whatever)
My cousin Carol always says, Give a Gift, Not a Burden - in that spirit feel free to alter the song in any way that makes it fit you better.
Hmmm.. Crystal Ball. Anniversary Gift.
I just happen to have lyrics for a song called Crystal Ball that I've started. If you happened to like them and want to write music for them and sing and play them, I would love that. (I did put some chords with them, but I think of all my melodies and chords as just provisional...) This is my first FAWM - so I'm not quite sure how you propose a collaboration to someone. I could post them as one of my songs and tag you, unless there's some other process.
No pressure of course, before or after you take a look.
I've enjoyed your songs and your comments on mine and other people's songs. Thanks for being so welcoming.
I put up a recording of “Holding the Dustpan” if you want to hear it…
Major midwest kudos for dropping an Ope in the forums.
I feel like the FUC community needs a primer on the value and uses of Ope, and you're the one to do it. ;)
thanks for the comments on 'words for wordle'-- wow, that's the first time I've been compared to the great Ken Nordine! (and not many know about him, either? I used to have that recording he did with jerry garcia, tho I havent heard it in a million years)
Rabbit/worm hole, thanks,

Thanks Carley! Tried it. Liked it. Will have to find a song to use it in :)
Oh and hey, my 15th FAWM too! Congrats!
Thank you for your kind words on "waiting." Guess we put up with it because we have no other choice.
Carley! First - hi hi HI! Didn't know you've been doing this longer than me. Didn't know you were studying to become a music teacher. Didn't know we share a love for Joni Mitchell and Paul McCartney. And I think Ukerina is an awesome band name! If it's a virtual band I'm in ;-) Next - thank you SO much for your comment on "Hate in My Heart," good callout on the thumb, totally forgot that one haha. And you nailed it on the head with the dynamics between the singer and subject, I didn't even think about that, so insightful. Thanks and see you around FAWM!
Glad you liked my take on "Together" it is so different from the other version.
You know, if I wasn't always on the lookout for Spammers I never would have known. ;)
How's the video going?
Aw thanks so much for the kind words, dearie!! Yes, that is indeed a banjo Uke on Playbill! Glad to be in the FAWM-FUC-Fam!
One day we should be in the same studio with some wine. ;)
I just love your mantra!!!
