Influences: John Prine, Hank Williams, Jesse Winchester, Steve Earle, etc., etc.
My sophomore year as a Fawmer. I'm really excited to take on the challenge again!
I am a multi-instrumentalist: violin/fiddle, viola, mandolin, mandola, banjo, guitar, uke, and bass. I started writing songs a long, long time ago.
I currently live in Kenosha, WI, but am originally from the Milwaukee area. I have also lived in the Twin Cities (28 yrs) and Washington DC area (2 yrs).
I've played in Old Time/String bands, Bluegrass, Rock, and Americana bands over the years, besides Singer-Songwriter venues. I miss getting together with fellow musicians and look forward to those days again. Most recently I've enjoyed playing with my wife, Kristin... who has done her best to keep me sane.

Bob - thank you so much for your response to Demolition Expert. I loved getting to work on so many songs with you this FAWM. Look forward to collaborating again next FAWM or at 50/90. Thank you for making this such a wonderfully welcoming place.
Hey Bob! Way to cross that finish line in style, my friend! Excellent FAWM by all! Thanks for the comments and support. I love February!
Woooohoooo, Bob - I love Looking to Board This Train. Three Songs - that's already a quarter of an album....Let's keep it going!!
Bob - Thank you, thank you, thank you. I love what you did with Iron That Shirt. I've always wanted to have a song with a spoken story section like in a Johnny Cash song, and now I do. I love how you balance between funny and poignant that feels perfect for this character. And those instruments and harmonies. Wow.
I posted one new set of lyrics for tonight called Iron That Shirt, in case it happens to move you. I'll be up for exploring more tomorrow - there re aplenty of drawers to pick from...
Hey, Bob - I had been thinking I'd love to work on something together since I listened to your songs Moaning and Singing the Blues and Unprepared. Thanks for taking the initiative. I'd love to work on another one if you think you might be up for it. You could give me some constraints - like a topic and a ghostly co-writer to include. .Or if you have a tune, I could do the Ouija board exercise and listen for what lyrics fall out. Or I can just post some more lyrics.
Thanks for the comment on Westbound Highway. I was poised to get all production-y but had to turn back from the brink. Since this is a Morph it has to get out so the next person in the chain can start working on their version. I can do another version with more room for instrumentals later.
Thanks for all of the positive comments, Bob. I love it here! Glad you're enjoying it, too!
Thank you for noticing my playing. I have made time to continue my online lessons , and I am playing more confidently. I still have trouble playing with people, since I have not had that much practice in a jam situation.
Welcome back, Wisconsin neighbor!
Hi there!
Always happy to meet more Wisconsin musicians! (I'm in Milwaukee myself). Looking forward to seeing what you come up with!
Side note: I'd love to get out to some new venues for gigs this year, any places near you you'd recommend looking into?
February is going to start any minute now... Happy FAWM!
I hope you have a great FAWM!!
