Influences: beautiful voices, often in harmony, guitars, pianos, banjos, fiddles, and mandolins. basses too. things that can tell new stories with old tools.
Boy, 2021 was a bust for me! I'm back for 2022 though and looking forward to whatever fawm brings to me and inspires in me...
Great to be back!

Thanks for all the March listening! Hear you next year!
You know, BJ, broken horses works just as good! : /
BJ, thanks so much for your ongoing listening and nice comments this FAWM. Being a part of this supportive community (at least for one month out of the year) has come to be important and meaningful to me. So glad to be able to cross paths with kindred spirits like you : )
Thank you for your kind comments on my songs! I appreciate it :)
10x10s are fun! I'm glad you liked mine :)
Thank you so much for your compliments on My Man of Few Words. I thought sheslin really captured what I was going for in the lyrics. Glad you enjoyed it.
On the song "Enough" I was getting a Jules Shear vibe from his duets album. If you haven't heard it check it out! Album title is Between Us.
thanks for the feedback! I agree, 77 bpm has maybe a better feel overall even if it loses a bit of the vibe.
Thank you for the kind comments on My Man of Few Words. I love what sheslin with with this.
Hi...thanks for your kind comment! There are definitely chromatic hammered dulcimers out there, though most of them are still arranged around fifths; the piano dulcimer, on the other hand, is set up in a way that makes sense to piano players. I really like your comparison to the kora, and I'm glad you enjoyed the piece.
Hey thank you! The emotive quality was totally drawn from the town. I’m so glad it came across!
Way cool! Really like your version and the soft guitar backing. (Sorry I was MIA this week.)
Nice to have you back! Thanks for listening to my song.
thanks for the feedback!
Hey, glad to see you back at it this year!
Hey, thanks for stopping by and commenting on Civil War for Dummies. Yes, sadly this world (or our part of it) is increasingly becoming uncivilized.
Thank you for your kind words on "I Have Two Kidneys", I'm looking forward to hearing your songs this FAWM.
There is a story behind all influences of course. I first met Abbie Gardner at an adult songwriting camp where she was a teacher. Shawna Caspi and The Rough & Tumble (and the other indie influences) have each played at a local listening rooms or house concerts where I met them. Their music made an impact and I am honored to know each of them personally. Maybe you even know that half of The Rough & Tumble is also from western PA. Thanks and yes. Looking forward!
Hi Brian! Looks like we both were assigned the glockenspiel avatar. I actually have one (and a few xylophones all for fun) so I will be playing it on a song or two. There is a challenge on the forums for people with the same avatar to collaborate, so let me know if that sounds like something you would be interested in. Also as a fun side note I am originally from PA (Dubois/Punxsutawney area) from a very long time ago. Have a great FAWM!
Welcome back!
