Artist Bio
Influences: It's a mixed bag, but right now I can't get enough of Brandi Carlile, Ria Mae, King Princess, Kathleen Edwards. Learned to play guitar with country standards; my dad played a lot of Willie Nelson, Merle Haggard, Johnny Cash, John Prine and Kris Kristofferson in the house when I was growing up. All time favorite musicians - a toss up between Joni Mitchell and David Bowie. Went through a massive Motown phase in my youth and that still sticks with me. I swoon over 2-3 part harmonies, so the likes of the Secret Sisters, Good Lovelies, Puppini Sisters and First Aid Kit make me giddy. I have big nostalgia for 80's new wave (as a kid I listened to the Pretty in Pink soundtrack a billion times). My own music tends to me roots style/adult contemporary. I kind of aspire to be the female Nick Drake (but happier). Told you it's a mixed bag!
I write music for the challenge and for pleasure. I rarely share outside of FAWM. This year I'm taking a big leap to share every single thing I write in Feb.
