Hi,
Expect more jangly guitars, sampled drums and songs about ejecta from me.

I released the album 'Inaction' in 2021 which is name-your-price on Bandcamp and on all the crappy streaming services.

Also, related to nothing, I made this dumb drum machine page for my previous album. I feel like sharing it here for some reason. Feel free to play with it and use it if you want

Check out my old Medway friends, they are always good value

LOL yeah brain off, hard on works too.

  • @sailingmagpie  Mar 2022

I concur on Talk Talk's later stuff being better. It only really sounds like the early stuff because he uses synths more but his voice definitely has a Mark Hollis quality to it.

Thanks for the mammoth listening sesh! I've still got loads of yours to hear. Looking forward to the live videos. Here's some retorts to you're comments:

    - That song is 100% about Rochester on a Friday night
    - I hadn't noticed the similarity to Mistletoe and Wine but I defo can now. If you're gonna steal, at least do it from the master, right?
    - To be fair, I only compared myself to Van Gogh's ear cutting skills, which weren't great, as opposed to his painting skills, which I admit may be more developed than my own.

Also, I keep meaning to message you and say, do you remember The Maccabees? Their lead singer does solo stuff now and it kinda reminds me of early Talk Talk. His name is Orlando Weeks.

  • @chriddof Mar 2022

Thank you for the kind comment. I only got 12 songs done this year, but that collab alone was more than worth it.

  • @vomvorton  Mar 2022

Two incomplete and two where I actually did nothing at all on them in 2022, but it's still a pretty ridiculous number innit? My heartfelt apologies.

  • @santadharma Feb 2022

Casios never get away from our house. They’re trapped forever whether they like it or not.

  • @sailingmagpie  Feb 2022

Wow, that video is from a lifetime ago! I feel like I didn't appreciate that song either! Love the bit near the end when you can be heard (correctly) mocking my use of the truck driver shift!

  • @spazsquatch Feb 2022

Thanks for the comment on "Get The Money", the secret is practice... well, that and taking a really, really deep breath, signing right on the microphone so I don't have to project and then editing out the level-killing <gasp> sounds that happened in the small gaps where I could afford one. Finally finishing it off with a ton of compression to make my levels sound more consistent than they really were.

I did go back and "punch in" a few words where my enunciation was really poor, but I convinced myself that I could get it perfect if I kept trying. That said, I can't keep up. I got one take where everything came together.

Thanks for your comment on Stammheim is Everywhere.

  • @itneverhappened Feb 2022

Oh, I love Beak> and especially Brean Down, that's a great compliment. Maybe influenced me subconciously on that one. Great to be here again and check out your jangly mastery!

  • @howthenightcame Feb 2022

hello balance lost, thanks for listening to my music and leaving an intriguing comment. i was reading about 'talk talk' recently and - much to my embarrassment - have never explored their work. could you recommend one of their later albums please? best wishes, htnc

  • @erucaesounds  Feb 2022

Hey there balancelost, thanks for your kind words on The Flimflam, much appreciated!

  • @radioovermoscow Feb 2022

Hahaha, thanks. I'd get in serious trouble if any of that story repeated itself in 2022.

  • @santadharma Feb 2022

    Can't sneak anything past you....

  • @lanasolyluna Feb 2022

Yeah it's also used sort of like someone's trying to hit on you/chat you up, whatever that terminology is ha ha ha. The first time I learned it, now probably about 12 years ago or so...some Japanese guy came up to me in Starbucks in Kyoto and talked with me awhile and then gave me his number and some woman at the next table said, "Nampa". I was single at the time so I didn't mind, but I was more creeped out that the woman was observing so closely...like lady, don't you have a life? Drink your coffee and mind your own business lol.

  • @thelowestbitter Jan 2022

Hey Blosty! No Chris De Burgh YET! I've still not done my annual influences update and I did sample him on my Christmas EP.

Looking forward to some more blosty bangers this year

  • @owl  Jan 2022

Are you gonna unmute us yet or what!

  • @expendablefriend Jan 2022

Probably not, but I'll see what happens. I'm glad to see you're up for the challenge again though! It wouldn't be FAWM without you :)

  • @kristian  Jan 2022

    I recommend spiky shoes!

Well, I’d still like you to give it a go so, can ya?

  • @vomvorton  Jan 2022

Hell yeah give me that bossa nova. I liked this punk / bossa nova song last year, an unexpected genre-smash!
