okies, we'll come back to it eventually!

  • @timfatchen  Mar 2022

I haven't got anywhere and life has taken over, sorry.

  • @nadine Mar 2022

Schau mal in deine Mailbox :)

  • @mahtowin  Mar 2022

Hey! Danke für durchhören und rückmelden! Kürze ist tatsächlich nicht meine Stärke. :-)

  • @leepat  Mar 2022

hey, thanks for listening. if you're curious about the article, I'm the one who wrote it :)

  • @nadine Mar 2022

  • @jessespillane  Mar 2022

Thanks for the comment! I do use addictive drums. I really like the sound and dynamics you can get from it.

  • @nadine Mar 2022

  • @chroes  Mar 2022

Hello, thank you for your comment on "We're going down". I think I need to listen to it again to spot the 80s TV theme vibe - maybe I just watched different shows in the 80s.:)

  • @unkept  Mar 2022

Of course, I always enjoy your music and your political commentary. Listening to your songs is something I look forward to every year, and they keep getting better!

  • @b3nut  Mar 2022

Thanks for the wonderful comments, and I've really enjoyed listening to your stuff this year...may we all make it through to do this again next year. Prost...

  • @timfatchen  Mar 2022

https://fawm.org/songs/138517/ listening when I should be going to bed. Just one thing, you could say this is in B or Abminor (G# minor, rel minor of B) For keyboard, there's advantages keeping it in that key, lends itself to lusher chord work.

  • @actualjulian  Feb 2022

Really happy to have heard your stuff and connected this year. Keep writing and rocking. And May the FAWM be with you ALWAYS

  • @sorby69  Feb 2022

Hey @ampersandman! Thanks for your nice words about our 4-track video song! Yeah, on reflection I do think the whacky SnapChat video face jarred with the bleak/dark lyrics - so I've swapped it out for a different video of me singing. Thanks again.

  • @timfatchen  Feb 2022

Hopeful song yes, I'd collab with piano--as before, especially as my mindset is getting darker and darker and I'm trying to offset it. make sure you put a placemarker up on your page though (I have 3 hours to my local midnight and being good I will obey FAWM rules..>! )

  • @radioovermoscow Feb 2022

Thanks! When I heard that Zelenskyy quote about needing ammunition, I was awed - and realised a song HAD TO BE WRITTEN

  • @nadine Feb 2022

Dank dir! Was muss das muss.

  • @mattwdunn  Feb 2022

Thanks for the great feedback. Apparently the ‘Bobby’ in the song is Bobby Fischer, the chess player

  • @downburst  Feb 2022

Glad you liked the harmony on your Gallipoli line. I just couldn't not do it, it was crying out to me. Your part was great, by the way, definitely my favorite thing in the corpse.

  • @nadine Feb 2022

Thanks for your comment! Robert, NOBODY who does folk and power metal takes this stuff too serious. It's all about enjoying legends, myths, fantasy and being a nerd.
The instrument I used here is a bagpipe, and we're planning to record real ones. I hope everything works as planned :)
Thanks for your kind words on my vocal performance. I am not sure if thees will be part of the arrangement, because my microphone is a 10€ dynamic microphone. This is the best sound I can get and I still have LOTS of breathing noises and pitch correction artefacts I can't get rid of. I cannot buy a new microphone in the next months and I strained a lot singing these layers. When I wrote this song, I envisioned a choir of strong men.

  • @waltermosch  Feb 2022

  • @wolfkier Feb 2022

Great, you're in! please send @declan your email so there's no hold up at all and this keeps moving. His email is declaniom1/googlemail
The person after you @phenola's email is (the.mershwaves/gmail)

  • @kenficara  Feb 2022

I realized subconsciously what brought Ellen Alien to mind — her song “Wish” where the lyrics revolve around the phrase “No wars, no cars” — https://ellenallien.bandcamp.com/track/wish

  • @timfatchen  Feb 2022

It's taken me forever to get here. I just get swamped.

  • @b3nut  Feb 2022

Thanks for the comments on Funny Money...really means a lot. :)

  • @caitlin Feb 2022

Hooray for finding joy in your pessimistic cynical ramblings, I love it! That gave me such a chuckle.

  • @caitlin Feb 2022

Thanks for sharing your reaction to My Body Is a Temple, it means a lot! The Regina Spektor song I referenced is called Folding Chair and I highly recommend you check it out. Her perfect body appears about 1 minute in.

  • @zecoop  Feb 2022

Gonna be camping out here in the coming days to check things out, but just remembered you were using the loop and I'm just amazed. So cool... :)

  • @radioovermoscow Feb 2022

    Yes, it's clearly Shihad :)

  • @nadine Feb 2022

  • @daveyboy103  Feb 2022

No problem at all, I was not aiming for clarity on the mix although if you listen to some of my other tracks I can easily achieve that. I was going more for feel over clarity, a grungy and edgy sound which I think I got.

Probably over long but I got a bit carried away with the intro.

Surprisingly nothing is clipping it's just the sounds themselves are highly compressed as distorted guitars tend to be, basically waveforms with their heads chopped off.

I really appreciate you taking the time to give detailed feedback

  • @coolparadiso  Feb 2022

Unfortunately its about power and money! they will be long gone before the effects, they only act in election cycles it is the same in almost every country just to varying degrees. i wish i was wrong but i just think the long term issues are just not on their agenda

  • @nadine Feb 2022

Dank dir! Ich melde mich wenn ich mehr weiß.

  • @nadine Feb 2022

Thanks for your comments and praise on "Under". Guess just a good sign when a bassist wants to jam huh? I'm in touch with two people right now, but I let you know when we agreed.

I've put your name on "Diplomacy" but I still don't know the key we will record. When would you be able to start? No hurry, I'm just asking cause you're the first in row.

  • @jamkar Feb 2022

10 sec. file sent to your email. ;-)

  • @mashala Feb 2022

    Danke für deinen Kommentar! :)

  • @bootlegger Feb 2022

Hahah nice one! Thanks for listening!

  • @nadine Feb 2022

"The Lie" ist einer deiner Besten. Er ist wunderschön düster, hat tolle Harmonien und die Produktion ist sauber. Wenn 7 Minuten wie im Flug vergehen, heißt das was. Wie ich sehe hast du auch schon viele Kommentare gekriegt :)

Oh, da hab ich dich mit dem Blödsinn angesteckt? Wunderbar :D

Und auch danke für den Kommentar zu "Hollywood Queen". Es ist ein wunderbarer Song daraus entstanden!

  • @b3nut  Feb 2022

Thanks for your comments as well!

  • @nadine Feb 2022

Du kennst die Anspielung? Geil.

    Was macht dein Februar?

  • @beat  Feb 2022

  • @jacobeverettwallace  Feb 2022

Thanks for the comment on Wild Iron! As for drums, I use the Logic Drummer and tweak it until it feels right. :)

  • @jessi14 Feb 2022

Danke für deinen Kommentar - freut mich, dass es dir auch gut geht in First world Berlin. Grüße aus Göttingen!

  • @nadine Feb 2022

Thanks for your comments! Seems like I have to vent a lot of frustration. Let's see if I'm able to write a happy song xD Singing is fun, but I'm not good at it and I don't have proper microphones. 20 takes and 2 hours of autotune to reach an okay'ish level to show people what I mean.

I like your idea of many vocalists on "Diplomacy" but it will be too much stress to organize. I may write more multi-collabs and when I think about last year... working with 30 people and still haven't done yet o_O But yeah, I drop you in to rock that bass! Thank you!

  • @datsch  Feb 2022

I like your loud guitars. Have fun this time round.

  • @tootoobee  Jan 2022

    Happy FAWMing!! :)

  • @karlsburg25  Jan 2022

  • @popmythology  Jan 2022

Hey, Robert, thanks for your kind note and thanks also for your interest in the challenge! Whether you end up participating in it or not, I appreciate you stopping by and hope you have a really good FAWM this year!

    Happy FAWM!

Thanks for the warm welcome, great to see you back! Wishing you a great Fawm.

  • @nadine Jan 2022

  • @timfatchen  Jan 2022

Another collab? I still have the last one on frequent rotation.

  • @b3nut  Jan 2022

    Grüße aus eiskalt Wisconsin! :D
