I was born in Trenton, NJ, but my family moved to Bloomsburg, PA when I was around a year or two of age. So, I consider that my hometown. Took piano lessons around the age of 6 or 7 and picked up playing the Bb coronet later. Switched to playing guitar when my oldest brother brought one home. Self taught on that for quite a while and switched to mandolin in 1991. LOVE IT!!
I currently play mandolin in two bands and enjoy writing original songs.
Bands
"The Pour Rabbits"
"The Lost Local Boys"

I am enjoying the "Kentucky to Santa Fe"-song so much, and thank you very, very much for contributing to make it be as beautiful as it is.... I really love it!
And also, thank you very much for dropping by and leaving such a lovely comment on the "Where is your prince..."-lyrics. I would look very, very forward if you took a stab at it... :-)

Great set-up, name-checking some of my favorite performers. Pretty swell!

  • @nadine Feb 2022

Thanks a lot for your comment on "Rendezvous". I'll keep that In mind when we search a singer. Right now I need a guitarist to finish the instrumental. This song needs big licks I cannot write and I'm not happy with the arpeggios

  • @chrismyth02 Feb 2022

Finished "Hung Up To Dry" please let me know if you want me to change anything or what you think; thanks for the collab, I very much enjoyed it!

Thanks for your comment on "When Summer Comes Home"!

I guess it IS kind of a weird structure haha – verses only followed by an outro with a solo? Know any other songs like that? I'm not sure I can think of any off the top of my head but would be interested in hearing another if you have any suggestions.

I find that when I pull very directly from specific experiences, the song structure and chord progression often winds up really simple (like here, the structure is the same throughout and the chord progression never changes).

I guess it's because everything takes a back seat to the lyrics and story at that point. Normally, this would bore me, but I have noticed that these are songs people seem to resonate with more when I play them out, which reinforces to me that the most important thing is conveying the emotion I want to convey. Everything else is just there to support it!

I appreciate you taking the time to listen and comment. Hope your FAWM is going well!

Sorry but Remember has now been taken by a lady who's father just passed away last year.

  • @leakyplusme2 Feb 2022

Sure you can put music to "Remember" if you get the time. Thanks for your kind words.

Thank you for your comments on my number 2. I'm afraid Bilman Lodge is long gone - I have a flush toilet now. Love your stuff.

  • @miga  Feb 2022

thanks for your kind comment on "moon on snow"! I see you're from PA too

  • @ohleeoh Feb 2022

Yeah, I was never much of a lead player or had the ability to improvise, but this has been worth it to me. I’ll check out the other two that you mentioned.

It seems like a cool program. Early on in learning to make music, I would have definitely used it. These days, I mostly stick to Ableton Live and Reason, and those are capable of just about anything! Great work with it though on "Twitch" :D
