SONG CHALLENGES TO COMPLETE
#boatnames (Don’t Laugh With Me)
#take-a-penny
A song that incorporates a French Horn in honor of my avatar. *Mission Accomplished*
---------------------------------------------------
Ooh, ooh look - funk jellyfish!

THE ALBUM ART!
---------------------------------------------------
COLLABORATIONS
I'm certainly down for it. There's more than 1 way 2 approach it. A little communication and an accord...next thing U know jelly has been made!
---------------------------------------------------
COLLABORATIONS pt 2: Electric Boogaloo!
What that means is that I may be inspired by one of your songs and then inclined to create a song based on what I glean from your creative energy. I'll record a demo with a vocal guide 4 U 2 follow. Feel free 2 take some liberties (have some fun with it) and I'll mix it down and post it as another tune closer 2 14 4 both of us. Everybody wins!! Interested? Hit me up!

UPDATE: 2/15
I am behind on collaborations due to my work-load. Please be patient with me as I intend to complete them. I was not expecting to be as involved with work stuff as I am.

Thanks, Craig, for your very nice comments on Call Me What You Will. I would love to extend this song to be longer. It packs a lot into less than 90 seconds. I will have to speak with the team. Maybe something for 50/90 :)
Thanks for stopping by my page and listening Craig.
I am playing catch up with my listening.
Hopefully we can do a collab next time!
Hey, thanks for stopping by to check out my music! And cheers for the comparison to Sting's 'Another Day', well at least his musical catharsis. Haven't heard that one before, what a little banger!
Will be enjoying some more of your tunes soon too, very much enjoyed what I've tasted thus far.
Loved that comment on Jekyll & Hyde, thank you chief! The lyrics - or at least the way they were presented - was very much a homage to the Jelly Factory :)
Thank you for your feedback. Really appreciated the lovely comments especially on my spoken word. If you ever find time collab would be really cool. Love your work.
Oh noooo!! I didn’t get that email for some reason?! This is a cruel discovery! The 2022 fawm collab that could have been! However I am still up for working on it whenever you are!!
Thank you so much, Craig. I kept reading, reading, reading and re-reading your comment. You are so kind.
I absolutely love your work and your comment made me feel so good. Thank you for your support.
Thank-you. <3
Yes, last year has been my first FAWM. And I enjoyed it so much that I talked with plenty of people, collaborated with more than 20 people and got real nuts with commenting. I like it here :)
Thanks for your comment on "Fit right in". I think this song will sound brilliant with a skilled singer like @katestantonsings . I definitely cannot sing a ballad but I wanted to share these special lyrics with this special community.
Just responded! :)
Yo ho…Craig, you are the bomb!!! Loved what you did this FAWM. Thanks for letting me in the factory. Definitely what to have a little chip party too. Hilarious you are!!! Love the jelly factory!!!
Looking forward to 50/90 then my friend.
here is a rough mix of the whoie chalk it up, https://billwhite.bandcamp.com/track/chalk-i-up you will hear it is not about covid but about how people need to find something to blame all their problems i t was trump, then covid,m now the russians.
Yeah, man, sexytime.
You know you want it.
Gotta be crazy to keep from cryin'.
Wow, thank you so much for your generous comment on Clear, Craig. I'm so glad you felt I was able to properly frame Chandra's heartfelt lyric. Really appreciate the listen.
Hey man, thanks for all the kind words. I'm not sure why we haven't linked up yet over the years, but I guess we're going to need to make that happen next year for sure. Need to get me some jelly on my tracks.
Dude thanks so much for all your support. I feel a definite kinship with you and have loved getting to make music with you and become friends! You’ve taught me a lot over the last 3 years and I look forward to whatever we do next. You are the master, I’m trying to get to your level man!! Much love and respect
Hi Craig, Just wanted to say thanks for all your thoughtful comments on my posts. Your comments always make me smile. I am so thrilled we were able to collaborate again. I totally enjoy your music and working with you :)
You're welcome in the party. Bring some jelly :)
Congrats on finishing strong! Looking forward to listening to more of yours this month :)
Industrial rock or the sorts sounds great. I changed the heading to ROCK. Looks like I have missed some tunes of yours. Going to listen now :)
I have both a giant grin and tears in my eyes. My students are going to go bonkers for Halloween Night. With these collabs as a teacher my goal is to show children the art of the possible. When a 'real' songwriter takes their words and turns them into a full production it explodes their horizons and shows them what they could be capable of doing with time and practice. I can do the similar things with them but there is an added bit of magic when it is someone from beyond their circles.
You can add me as a collaborator if you want, but the kid's words. I am saving the comment box on the song for their comments.
In the future, yes vocal collabs are possible, but become more logistically involved for the teacher because I would need to acquire and keep track of individual permission forms to participate. Text prepared in a whole class setting and initials only meets the privacy considerations I need to respect.
It may be the last day of FAWM, but I will get something posted. Thanks for your patience.
*maniacal laugh* my plan is working perfectly…you WILL let us be in your band!!!! Muahahaha!!!
Hello Craig. Did you receive the emailed lyrics me and my 2nd graders sent you. No worries. Just want to know you got them.
No pressure and no worries… but Rob and I thought of you when we wrote the soul inspired song we put out yesterday. ‘Winter of Soul’
Please don't laugh at me, Craig, but my FAWM win has been completely unexpected! Until mid of January I thought a lot about writing 4-5 songs, cause I'm quite busy. I did not expect my muse to write (a) so many songs (b) quality songs and (c) real heavy progressive metal. So I told her to stop, cause I still got some collabs left and everything will crush right in this week or weekend.
I'm happy you enjoyed "The World's Most Simplest Man". @seppo composed a banging track with a badass bass riff. It inspired me to add some brasses. I don't listen to ska, but it just felt right to try something else.
I'm also taking part on the March listening month and hope that I find some hidden gems. You got the real groove... ehm jelly!
Hey, Craig! Good to see you and listen to your tunes. Yes, knocking em' out as they come. Lol Cheers!
Thanks Craig! You always know just what to say! Lol
Thanks for the comments and I agree that the horns could hear a bit better and I will update it today.
With my headphones they are in good balance but with speakers they are bit too quiet
Hi, You asked for a heads-up when Hit Man was ready. It is! Check out davidtaro's page.
@cts 2 weeks
Looking forward to the demo so hit me up when that's ready.
hey! overdue explanation, but: IYKYK = "if you know you know" (re: your question on "steal this song" from, like, 2 weeks ago...)
Intrigue!!!
Thx Craig. I appreciate your comments..which BTW. have more eloquence and imagery than my song lyrics.
Still dancing my cares away!!! Thank you, friend!!! It’s perfect!
Here's something to look at
Buncha ‘ol geezers
Waitin’ for a show
Thinkin’ it’ll be Mozart
But it’s Jelly don’t you know
At first they were
Shocked all over
But in a while
They dug this rover
Jelly hit them with
Some funk
And their eyelids
Dropped and sunk
Then all at once
Their feet moved
They tapped in time
And really grooved
So just because
A dude is old
Don’t think that
He’s not bold
Bring it on
Old Jelly Man
We can dig it
Yes we can
I have been doing this for eleven years. this is one of the very best over that period. CTS, you knocked us all out with your work. I live in a retirement community and even these old geezers tap their feet to this song. Wow!
Roger that!
Hey, Mr Jelly Man... I have the seeds of an idea...
https://www.dragondreams.org.uk/fawm2022/Dragondreams_MaverickGambit.mp3
The jelly lab always springs forth good vibes! I look forward to hearing what you created!! I appreciate the good communication and updates.
BTW, I totally dig the album art.
Was not able to finish this past weekend. Will be working tonight and tomorrow to complete. Are you planning on adding vocals? Are you OK with my making some changes to the structure? Like, adding an intro...is that good? I am staying with your original intent as much as possible.
Jelly mould should be in your inbox :-)
You'll have something by end of day tomorrow.
Hey man. I may have some raw jelly. (what is the raw material for jelly!?). Got an instrumental idea. Not going anywhere vocally. Would this be of interest at all?
I am so happy to hear that!!! I'm so lucky to have gotten the chance to collab with you, Craig, and to hear that you're feeling inspired is icing on the cake. Looking super forward!!!
I got you after work. Can't wait to hear it after you apply dat jelly.
Thank you for those kind words about The Window To Your Soul. Agree with you about Andrea's lyrical talents. Makes it easy to conjure up a song!
To quote Outkast - "I am fo'real."
If you need stems or anything else just let me know.
Loose Face is all yours to do whatever you want with it
Just shot you an email....
Thx for the kind works on The Road is Long I have another blues /jazzy song in which we are doing the vocals this weekend... fun times.
I loved doing the bass on this song . I am getting inspiration from listening to your stuff.
Thanks, I think I might squeeze a few more in. but I am insanely busy at the moment.
Hey man. Might have some time tomorrow afternoon (UK), but apologies I'm a little backed up with stuff at the moment. So might not be super quick on the turnarounds, but would love to partake of some jelly before the end of the month if feasible!
thank you for listening and commenting on my song "The Truth" your feedback was far too kind.
Tnx for letting me know reposted it and put on public normally you can listen too it now :)))
Hello Jellyman. I'm verklempt. My grade 2 class would love to write lyrics for a Jelly Factory collab. I do not see this particular class until Tuesday afternoon. We are on it.
Your comment on "Bubbles" put a big smile on my face. Thank you for that. I really appreciate the encouragement. We had so many laugh-out-loud moments making that one, it'd be a shame not to do it again.
Here's some more. Pitch it if you don't like it.
Here comes the jellyman
Openin his trunk
He’ll fill you up
With real juicy funk
You need some jelly
Put in your life
Your mood is so nasty
You could cut it with a knife
So start groovin
When they get snooty
Move your feet
And shake your booty
Play the music
That sets you free
We’ll do some jumpin
Just you and me
Pat your head
And rub your belly
What you need is
A bowl of jelly
I have no expectations. If you like it, use it. Modify it. Or throw it away.
Very handsome photo by the way
Thanks for the feedback, I am a bit more time challenged this year due to work commitments but doing what I can to hit the target. Recording with the band all weekend then I need to mix and master those 4 songs for release.
Lol on “my nose bleeds.” Funny thing about the chips vs crisps in your song. Our new kitten is named Chip and we were just saying we’ll have to start calling (the snack) crisps so he won’t think we’re calling him. Ha!
Howdy Jellyman and thanks for your deep introspect into "Lillies In Sand".
Thanks for your kind words. Pressure is building. Next z/song will be a bit on the lighter side should I ever manage to produce the lyrics. You can take credit for inspiration if you want. ;)
Thanks so much for the suggestion about the guitars on Loretta - it's something specific that I can play around with and try to improve. That said, I'm rarely able to listen objectively to the levels etc... on my songs so I'm not sure if my fiddling makes things better or worse ... and disregarding that I don't think I've got the skillz to make the guitars more present either ... so I've made them (relatively) louder instead. Hurray! Thanks again.
Thanks for checking out Full Throttle Ahead. I always appreciate your thoughtful comments :)
Take your pick. The Jellyman is a little out of my usual style but I had fun trying. Look forward to whatever you do.
Sure did. Jelly is setting up well.
Jellyman. Take a look at this
Jelly Man Jive
I’m the man with a plan
I got a big wingspan
My feet are so quick
My dancing real slick
The jelly man you gotta see
The jelly man will set you free
The music starts to groove
I’ll show you how to move
Both your feet will jump
All the suckers you will trump
The jelly man you gotta see
The jelly man will set you free
You won’t get to be like me
But a better dude you’ll be
Try it and you’ll be alive
You can really jive
The jelly man you gotta se
The jelly man will set you free
Thank you for the comments.
You know why Nancy and Gary are both dead?
Cos they didn't blow enough pot.
I would be pleased to work with you. If you see something that i have written that you like, go for it. Or, if you have a subject in mind, perhaps I can write something in that area.
My bad, I didn't set it to download because I'm an idiot. Should be available here if you still want it: https://soundcloud.com/david_taro/judy. Stay funky!
Check you email. I have a couple of tempo questions.
Hi!
You should have an email from my personal.
Thanks for your words on "She's Contemplating": This has been a real challenge for me, cause it's quite the opposite of arrangements and style I write. Synchronising the guitar recordings was no fun. I practise more and buy some mics when I'm ready to record something for real.
Noted also :-) I’ll let you know when I’ve located a groove.
Gotcha! There'll be a delivery of ingredients coming to the factory gates within a couple of days! I'm having a lazy Sunday. I hope you are too. :-)
I am SO hungry for jelly right now! :-D
Jelly factory is in productionnnnn!! I’m gonna get my groove on at some point this month. Fancy a collab if time allows?
Of course, dude. I think you can download the wav from my Soundcloud. But if I forgot to turn that option on let me know and I’ll send you an mp3.
I agree, Robin Gibb - falsetto legend! He’s big league, I’m very much local park on a Sunday morning by comparison but thank you for the comment, made my day :)
I was chatting to @coolparadiso yesterday for his podcast and was discussing the use of BBC SO. The key is to keep the individual parts quite simple and follow the scales for the key, then layer them. Classical music, usually is not complex but is layered richly, this can be replicated.
You do need a machine that can run it. Hit me up if you need any orchestration adding to a sing, happy to give that a go.
IYKYK - If You Know, You Know... ;-)
Thx man for the kind word as always.
I will do a remix with in mind.
Hey thanks! Your comment was so nice to hear, it means a lot to me that the song reached you on a personal level somehow. If you're ever down for a collab let me know :)
So glad to see and hear the jelly factory is open. I need this in my life!
Thanks for your praise on “Best of Me.” I started experimenting more with my vocals in 50/90 and really enjoyed it so I’m hoping to bring it to FAWM, although not nearly as much time to tune them - lol!
Got it!
Hey there! Are you with BMI or ASCAP? (or none of the above... I can't remember if I asked)
Hey there cts, Just chiming in to say hello
Russ
Hey,
Of course that would be awesome. Although I'm not sure i'm ready for all this jelly ha ;)
I did. Not seeing anything. Could you try again? The email address should be working.
aw thanks. Craig :)
Looking fwd to hearing what jelly you have in store!
Received :) I'm excited!
"Les toot" lol
Thanks so much for your awesome comment/input for “Would You Listen?” I so appreciate the insight.
Thx man...I will never get to your level of bass playing you are at...you have the feel and touch you can't "learn" that! BUT i do appreciate more and more the major roll that a great bass line plays in a song. I have that bass riff from "Billy Jean" intro etched in my mind forever..classic!
@cts thanks for your feedback and support on my first track. I think you’ll like my next song.
Thank you so much about your comment on my horror soundscape! Hoping to make more spooky content like that this year, and I'm excited to hear what you have this year for FAWM too!
